RSVP Adults/Kids

Is anyone else trying to get a count for adults and kids? I'm not sure how important it is to have a special count. I want to be able to do a special thing for the kids and I want to know how many to plan for. What are you saying?

  • If there is a butt for a chair, you need to count them as a guest.
  • I'm not sure I understand.  Are you not seating and feeding the children?  Don't you NEED to know that info for your head count for the reception venue/caterer?

And do you not have a line or lines on the response card for names?  Wouldn't that tell you who's coming? I'm sorry.  I'm just not understanding how you wouldn't know what you're looking for from your response cards.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • It's for kids favors, so I know how many to prepare.
I wasn't sure if it would be rude to add an additional like on the RSVP that said

    Adults___ Kids____

    What do you think?

  • I don't know why you couldn't do that, but I think it's kind of weird.  I'd also use "child" instead of "kid".  Couldn't you just prepare kid favors for the number of kids in the families that RSVP "yes" instead?  If the Smith family says they're coming, and you know they have 4 kids, then you shouldn't need to ask them how many of those who are coming are children.

If I saw that on a response card I would assume you're asking because of adult or child plates for the meal.

that is what i am doing for kids favors.

i am not putting anything specifically "weddingy" in the favors. if i have extras or if they get left behind, i can reuse the favor stuff for other things, bday parties, pinata stuffing, easter egg stuffers, etc.
