**Graphic Design people**

I am fighting with the map insert for our invites.  It's just not quite sharp enough to make me happy.  I don't mind people knowing I did the invites myself - but I don't want them to instantly assume that based on the quality of this darn map.  Anybody willing to give me advice?  I'm most stressed about the mini-maps (I can't even figure out how to fit the road names in).

  • What are you using to make them?
AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers
  • Honestly, I would skip the map altogether and just do turn-by-turn directions.

That doesn't help those of us that need visuals or may not be coming from the direction you think we will be.
  • I prefer turn by turn directions too.  I end up mapquesting the directions anyway.

But, FWIW, it looks pretty crisp on my monitor when I enlarge the pic.
  • Yeah, I just said screw it and gave directions from the church to the reception and gave the locations of both.  Most people will Google Maps/GPS it anyway, and I linked to a map on our wedding website and gave the address.

  • I c/p'd the map from mapquest and drew lines over it in word or ppt.  grouped those and imported to photoshop to put in a lot of the other stuff.  The words look like crap if I put those in within photoshop, so those are in Publisher, where the whole invite is.

  • I like whatever it is you posted, though I dont like how close louisville is to the arrow. I dont think its blurry or unclear at all.
  • Louisville is about a 40 minute drive from that arrow.  Same re: Cincinnatti.  But, it's direct on those interstates.

The back will have turn-by-turn directions from all 3 directions, and in between, but we're providing a bus from the hotel to the wedding too.

  • If you're tracing the lines in ppt and then moving into photoshop, just add the words yourself in Photoshop so they're more crisp or can be bigger. Chances are you need fewer words than the map gives you anyway, so you could try that

  • Jill, it's on 1200 I think.  It looks great till I flatten it in Photoshop to get it out.  Is there a better way to do that?
