How strict is the "no veil for second wedding" rule??

My fiance and I are planning a January wedding.  This will be a second marriage for each of us.  I did not wear a veil at my first wedding, and always regretted it.  How strict is the "no veil for second wedding" rule???

I've never heard of a no veil for second wedding rule :)  And yes, in 3 days I *will* be wearing a veil for my second wedding... just not the blusher. I don't think that's appropriate.

The beauty about second weddings is that this time around we get to do it the way we want to... rules are a lot more lax and you can just do what makes you happy.

  • The thing with rules and weddings is, there are no actual rules, just standards of what has been done most in the past. If you want to wear a veil, wear a veil. Not to be a cheeseball, but those who matter, don't mind and those who mind don't matter (or at least their opinions don't).
  • What "no veil for second wedding" rule?? Never heard of one. :)

  • If you want to wear a veil for a second wedding, remember the scarlet A on the front of your gown :P

Seriously, that went out a million years ago.  Wear what makes you happy and feel beautiful!

i went to a 2nd wedding back in nov and the bride wore a white poofy, princess dress and a long veil.

    there is no rule.
  • There's no "no veil" rule, just a "no blusher for second weddings" rule. Go for it.

  • If u want to wear a veil then wear a veil! Its ur day and u deserve to be happy!
  • Why can't you wear a blusher for a second wedding??
  • I've never heard that rule before, but it kinda sounds right. BUT at the same time this is YOUR wedding no matter what! I know traditionally brides wear veils over their faces symbolizing "virginism" (is that even a word? LOL) but now brides wear veils as part of their headpiece for the ceremony and take it off for the reception! It's totally up to you. Whatever you feel like doing.

  • If you want to wear a veil, go for it. If you want to wear a blusher, go for it. It's not something that will hurt anyone, so if it makes you happy, then you should wear it.
