I agree, Special. My brother did it when he was in the Marines. He said that it helped destress him when he was in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of his buddies, who didn't smoke, lamented that he never got "breaks" like the smokers did.
I'm just so happy that my brother quit cold turkey (as far as I know) the day that he left 29 Palms. Just like he promised.

One of my pet peeves. My first job was a cart pusher. I loved it when people brought a cart from a random place in the parking lot to use for themselves. Made my day.
Going along with the shopping carts, I don't see why stores have to have so many different types of carts that don't collapse into each other, so even if people want to put them in the cart corral, they can't.
The grocery store I go to has 7 different types of shopping carts (I'm the loser who has counted), none of them go with each other. It creates huge pileups in front of the door and in the parking lot.

That's our puggle, Lucy! She is one year old. And she fucking rules.
I don't get the people who put up the signs on the side of the roads that say "I make $10K a month! Call me to learn how!"
REALLY. You are capable of making $10K a month but you have to make a sign with a Sharpie on a flourescent posterboard? And you can't figure out proper spacing to make all your letters fit...

Lucas was a smoker when we met. I never asked him to quit, but he just quit one day cold turkey three years ago. He tried smoking again about six months later and it made him sick. At least I don't have to worry about him picking up the habit again.

<div>I completely agree with that. I don't understand the need for these. I'm pretty sure I managed fine without them when I was a kid.</div>
This sounds strange, but I don't often see children at the grocery. Maybe it's the times that I go or else the area that I live in, but mostly it's all adults. Hmmm . . . never really thought about it.

I'm not complaining. I usually go either after work (6:30ish) or like at 9pm during the week. Also, my area is mostly young professionals or older Eastern European women.
Of course our groceries are NOT open 24 hours.

When we were dating, we used to go grocery shopping at Wal-Mart kind of late, like 10 or so. There were ALWAYS kids there. Really young kids, school aged kids, just tons of kids.

See above where Anna says "YUPPIE spawn".
I guess I saw a kid the other day at a restaurant. The 3 year old was climbing all over and the 7 year old was wandering around. It was the end of their meal, so I gave the parents the benefit of the doubt. They weren't being obnoxious.
My SIL (not the physics major) did not remove her screaming baby from my wedding ceremony. Everyone seems to tell posters they won't notice, but I certainly did. Everyone did. We have a great photo of my brother giving her a WTF look, and he's quite possibly the world's biggest fan of babies.

I can push/turn a lot of carts for my size.
