    I don't think that Athiest/non-religious people are more compassionate per se, but there are people that take their religion to extreme levels. There is a church here in Kansas that protests military funerals, saying that they're going to hell, and they have extremely young children holding up signs saying, 'God hates fags' etc etc. Now, I have studied and practiced a couple of different religions, when I was trying to see what was right for me. There's always the outlandish people and the people who take it too far, but I think all in all, it doesn't really matter on the religion of the person, but of the person themself.
