Holy checks, Batman! (Pics/links included)

OK, this was not at all expected, but today turned into a BIG day for WR stuff! My sister/MOH came to town for the day, and she's moving to California in two weeks, so this was really our last opportunity to do wedding stuff together before she leaves. Still, we got a lot more done than I thought we would!

First, we went to lunch at one of my favorite restaurants and ended up finding out that they have a banquet room and TONS of special event package options - so it looks like we'll be going there for our rehearsal dinner! This place is special to FI and I because we went there on our second date, celebrated with my mom and godmother there right after we got engaged, and went there when his family and mine met for the first time. Plus, it's well within our budget - a huge relief since we're expecting to have a pretty big rehearsal dinner!

Then we went to David's Bridal so my sister could pick out her dress for the wedding. All my BM's are picking their own dresses in the same length and color. Everything she tried on looked great on her, but this is what she ended up choosing:

The website shows it in red and blue, but we're ordering it in plum. So that's one bridesmaid down, five to go!

My sister also has an awesome eye for accessories. So while I'm whining about how I don't know what kind of headpiece to wear with my dress, she hands me this and tells me to try it on:

It was perfect, and I bought it on the spot!

Later on in the day, we went to the mall and found the following earrings to go with it:

Finally, I talked with my mom about picking out ribbon and other supplies to make my garters. She's making me both a keep and a toss garter by hand, using the method my grandmother taught her and used to make the garters for my mom and aunts when they got married. Mom apparently also found the bouquet holder from when she married my father in 1978. She pulled the lace off of it and will be using it on the garter I'm keeping. It will be my something old. :)
