Davids Bridal

I know Davids Bridal is a hug place and tons of people buy dresses from there but please be careful. I went there today to pick up a BM dress for a wedding I am standing up in, in September. The girl in front of me was picking up her wedding gown. They brought it out and held it for her well she was supposed to sign for it. However, she said she wanted to try it on before she signed. The lady told her they were busy and it could be awhile but she didn't care she wanted to try it on. So they get her a room and she tries it on. They had ordered her the wrong headpiece and her dress had yellow spots all over it.

So next I get my dress and the lady does the same thing here just sign this. After seeing what the bride just went through I wanted to double check everything. They forgot the slip and gave me the wrong size sash. They were able to give me everything correct in the end and I happily signed.

When you read what you sign it states that everything is correct with you ordered and once you sign they are not responsible for anything. So if I or that bride would have signed they wouldn't have done anything to help us out. The thing that bothered me the most was that they didn't want you to look at your dress before you sign. Like they knew there stuff isn't right.

I know a lot of people shop at Davids but please just be careful and tell your BM to be careful.

OMG how awful!  I have browsed at David's twice recently and hey I may as well share my experiences.  First I will start by saying I bought my dress from Becker's in Fowler, and they were amazing.

FI and I decided to stop in DB one night to glance at bm dresses just to get an idea of style, plus I saw one online I liked.  There were 3 available associates while we were there, plus 1 associate tied up with a customer.  We browsed for 20 minutes and no one so much as said hi to us!  I am usually very polite to anyone working in customer service, because hey I've been there...but I started making comments like "hey I wonder if they have this in the color I'm looking for"  or looking at the mix and match saying "hm...I wish I knew which ones went well together"....you guessed it, no help.  I found a dress I LOVE for my girls but on every single sample, the pick ups were falling out, the reviews online confirm thats a regular issue.

Fast Forward 1-2 months.  My mom and I stopped at ANOTHER DB.  Similar scenario, available associates, few customers, and we were clearly looking for  a reason.  No one offered to help for 15-20 minutes in dresses, so we went to look at headpieces.  I was looking for a specific thing and no one clearly had any intention of helping us so I began telling my mom that this was very similar to what I experienced last time and I couldn't wait to shop for BM dresses at Becker's...tacky I know. Finally someone came over and asked if she could help us find anything.

Needless to say, next weekend we are going out of our way to meet at Becker's Bridal in Fowler and I couldn't be happier :)

Sorry DB, poor customer service and poor quality product means you will lose business.

Wow...I'm speechless.  That's really lousy on so many levels.  I got my BM dresses from there because it was the most convenient place for everyone, but this makes me worry (so far, 3 of 5 are in without a hitch).  We did have a problem when one girl was shopping for hers - there told her only to purchase out of five dresses I'd listed, but those were the five dresses I'd banned. Luckily my friend called me and asked, seeing how the five were not exactly my taste. :)

When being fitted I also had to call my girlfriend to confirm on some of the accessories. I knew when I looked with her we had talked about the fabric flowers being on the sash and the saleslady knew nothing about it. SUre enough all of the girls were supposed to have them. So if I wouldn't have called then we all would have ordered our dresses without them.

The other thing that bothers me is the way they advertise. The dresses we got were supposed to be the best deal in the store at $79.99 but then you have to add the sash for $25 and peak a boo slip for $25. We also added the flower for $15. You have to have the sash and slip so really the dress isn't $79. I like the dresses I just hate the way they false advertise. I mean when I went to get fitted she was like oh you got the best deal dress but you have to have these two other things. I was laughing.

Wow. I'm speechless. I'm not using DB, but thanks for the heads up.

I actually had a great experience with David's Bridal.

They don't really advertise this, but they allow you to exchange your dress that you've purchased as long as you haven't cut the tags off.  I originally ordered a petite sized dress, and ended up (MONTHS later) taking it back for a non-petite size no problem!  A friend of mine ended up exchanging for a totally different dress, easy as can be.  That's not something other bridal shops will do.

I did not have a pleasant experience at DB shopping for my BM dresses either... but in the end, they were the cutest/most affordable dresses that fit all my BMs wonderfully and they all said they'd probably be able to wear it for another ocassion. However, I will let them know to try it on before signing anything! [:

I experienced a similar situation last weekend when I picked up my dress.  The lady brought my dress and told me to sign the paper.  I looked at my Mom and said "You think I should try it on first?"  My Mom said "Duh!"  I asked the lady if I could try it on and then noticed that my slip and bra weren't included (I paid for all 3 pieces).  I asked the lady if she had them and she had to go back and look for them.  She said they must have been put away separately, but she found them.  If I would have signed the paper, I wouldn't have had a bra or slip!

I too am surprised to hear these horror stories.  I have been dealing with the DB in Ann Arbor, and have had nothing but wonderful experiences.  Their staff spent lots of time with me trying on dresses and same with my bridesmaids.  Yes, they were a little busy and my consultant had more than one party going at a time, but she did a great job, checking in, bringing samples, offering suggestions and idea.  I couldn't have been happier.

I have been to other locations and not as please, but again...the Ann Arbor store was great!
