atSesh, I hope they can work something out for you pay-wise. I would think that a supervisor position would automatically be a payraise anyway.
Posted by midgetthemighty
You'd think, but that's not how it works. Writers' pay is based on a base pay and their personal production time, supervisor is based on a base pay and the entire team's production time. I'm the top producer so I make the most, and the team's average is nowhere near mine. So I'd be taking a big pay cut, which isn't fair. I feel bad for our supervisors because iwe always have new people training, and it takes a long time to get numbers up (if ever).

ROATAN. It was so beautiful. Snorkeling was fun there. I could have stayed for a week.

So you couldn't look through the album on my wall? Crap. I was hoping I could just tag myself on the album, but I couldn't figure out a way to do it. Stupid fb. Although I guess I could change his privacy settings so friends of friends can see the pictures too, since you're the only one who's actually met him :)

• July, I'm not a fan of gold jewelry either. Is there anything that you could wear to the rehearsal as Cfas suggested? I'm sorry she keeps pushing you with this situtation.
I'm not sure what double-pawed means, so thanks Google. She is not. Her 5 'fingered' feet are just 2-3 sizes bigger than a normal cats. We think she might be part maine-coon. She is fat, yes. But even if she wasn't she'd probably be an 18 pound cat.

I never even noticed her paw until it was pointed out. She does have a big paw! It looks like she has an extra toe or two. Whisky has big paws too, but he's a pretty tall cat.

Gotcha. That makes sense, but agreed that it's not fair. This isn't fair to you either, but having you as a supervisor would hurt them overall too, right?
• Morning, everyone! I was supposed to supervise a final exam yesterday, but the girl was a no-show, so I got to go home "early" yesterday. Yay for making it home by 5:15. My younger daughter's birthday is next week, so I took my free evening and made royal icing butterflies for the cupcakes she's going to take to her class. Vanilla cupcakes with strawberry Italian meringue buttercream, yummmmm.

4 more days until spring break!
• Midge-
I don't know what I wearing yet for the rehearsal. I may be able to find a bracelet or something to appease her at least for the evening. I'll have to see what I end up wearing.

What do you mean, it would hurt them? I'd like to think it would help them, since I'm one of the few left who actually knows how to do the job.

And yet, that's one thing that hurts me. I'm the only one trained to write certain sites, so if I was a supervisor, they'd lose their pointperson for those sites. That was pointed out the first time I interviewed.

Just that they'd be losing their best writer (unless supervisors also write).

ETA - Also what Chrissy said.
• Morning.

It got cold here again. I don't like it. Also, I have to walk by the Supreme Court on the way to work and it's been crazy this week with the demonstrators there for the health care law. I'm not used to pushing my way through people picketing and yelling through megaphones on my way to work.

I'll be sure to get pictures. Last year she took cupcakes in on April Fool's day, and they looked like a platter of spaghetti and meatballs.

• Ugh, Easter. We haven't told his family yet that we won't be there for church and Easter breakfast. H gets that joy.

• H and I are going up to my IL's for Thursday night - Saturday night Easter weekend. H has a couple of conventions in Boston that weekend that he likes to go to. But we're heading back on Saturday night to spend Easter with my family this year. He's not going to church, but I am, and then we go to lunch at my parents' house. I missed it last year.

That's awesome! Now I have the desire to read Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.

I love Easter. I wish the orchestra was still playing with the choir but we haven't for the past two to three big services. :(
• The only exciting thing about Easter for me is getting a pretty dress. I'm a little surprised I don't get struck by lightning walking into church every year.

• Bay, I didn't even notice until I was like 50 posts past it.

So, that was fun. I asked the boss about the pay scale and about what the job would entail (I had talked to a supervisor about it first and she wasn't sure, as they were trying to get two different types of help). The response was that there would be absolutely no negotiations and that a supervisor needed to be mentally prepared to lead a team. Why do I even bother?
• Holly - We did play with them and most of us are in choir too. Our leader said he wanted to get some separate arrangements, which would be fine, but never did.

Personally, I think that we wouldn't overpower the choir if he made the trumpets use mutes. We only have 3 trumpets, 2 saxaphones, 1 upright bass, 1 flute (me), 1 oboe and 1 clarinet (who has never been able to play with us because she was "too young" the other times). I feel bad for her because she was really excited. After the wedding, I think I'm going to find some woodwind instrumental music and include in the performance.
• Oh and technically we could 3-4 flutes. Our best soprano, the oboe player and one of the saxophone players also play flute. The best soprano never gets to play with the choir because they need her voice. She's playing flute for my wedding though. :)
• I have no clue. I think the place I went to with Manda in Shirlington takes reservations. The Carlyle?
Photobucket
• Also, have you just plugged the info into open table to try and find something? That's how we found somewhere that was open on Christmas Eve in London.
Photobucket
• (I know I'm way late with this. I just logged on.)

Bay is right. Sorry for the confusion, Mica. This is my permanent SN now. I hope you enjoyed your cruise. :)
