DJ - pricing question and RetroDJToGo opinions

Has anyone used RetroDJToGo?  They were recommended by my venue (The Village Golf Club) and after e-mailing with them I do like them.

He did say something in the email that I thought was kind of strange though.  They are charging $750 for 4 hours of entertainment plus uplighting.  He then says..."Yes, you can find a cheaper DJ in Houston but this is why we are the best and why we are so great, blah, blah, blah."  (Obviously I'm paraphrasing).

Here's the thing though...$750 sounded great to me.  The other prices I've seen are all over $1000.  So...am I missing something or is he?  A DJ is not the most imporant thing to us and I want to make sure we are getting a good deal.

Thanks!

That is funny b/c as I was reading it, I was thinking $750 - not bad! I need to check this place out. I have not seen any cheaper than $1000 myself, but I have not done too much research yet. I am basing my knowledge on what I saw at Bridal Extravaganza.

I think that is a good price too.  The DJ we hired was $800 for 4 hours of DJing alone and the uplighting was an additional cost.  I have seen some cheaper DJ's out there though, like Overtime Productions was $599 and some wedding/videographer company was offering $499.

Thats pretty good for pricing. Space City Entertainment is 800 for 4 hours with no uplighting.

Ok good.  I'm glad you guys are confirming what I thought.  Sounds like $750 is on the low side of the average.

Has anyone heard of or have recs for Retro?

I hired DjBrothers, and I'm getting them for $495 for four hours on a Friday night. You might want to check out their website!

We hired Elegante Entertainment and he does 5 hours for 747 but that doesn't include uplighting.
