just got a response from the claims company re: damages to our personal property caused by the movers. There's a bunch of stuff that they're not going to cover (namely our EXPENSIVE 2yo furniture) because the damage was not noted on the moving inventory sheets. (despite several of the items pointed out to the movers at the time..)
how the f*ck am I supposed to mark items off on a list, direct a team of 7 people (half of which don't speak English and need someone to translate) where to put stuff, and inspect every item as it comes through the door? All of the furniture came in wrapped, and there was so many boxes all over the place that we couldn't even access half of it until we unpacked/moved stuff a few days later - i noticed damaged items as we unpacked or moved stuff, and submitted my claim within the required 30 days.
