Anyone know of any AFFORDABLE florists serving the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago?

I am FREAKING OUT about the cost of flowers. Does anyone know of any respectively CHEAP florists they would recommend serving the Northwestern Suburbs? Elk Grove Village, ARlington Heights, Palatine area would be perfect.

Thanks!

  • We used Kimberose and she was very respectful of our budget.  She did a fantastic job!

I could rave about her forever!  Feel free to PM me if you want additional information.

  • I highly recommend Blooming Creations.  We used them for our wedding in September.  I have a full review if you scroll down to older posts.  The owner is Kim and it's based out of her house in Bartlett but she will meet you anywhere.  She does fantastic work and is quite reasonable as far as florists go.  PM if you have questions. www.bloomingcreations.com

  • We used Flowers by Victoria. Vicky doesn't have a minimum and works out of her home in Elgin. I found her prices to be much more affordable than other florists and I absolutely loved her work.
  • I'm in the same boat as you, slflosi...

We're meeting with Kim at Blooming Creations in a few days! Will also look at some of these other suggestions. Thanks, all!
  • Kio kreations in naperville... Picked them after meeting with 6. Trellis was not professional, Mary at color by Chicago not professional either. Just my opinions. Good luck!!! Also suggest Bella flora. She was my second pick
  • we booked with Amy @ Unique.  She was a pleasure to work with. Reasonable prices.  Very professional. Good luck!

  • I agree with PP that Mary from  Flowers By Color Chicago is unprofessional. I asked for a quote and told her my approximate budget. A budget other florists have been able to give me quotes within. I got a very short e-mail from her telling me I was being "unrealistic". There are nicer ways to phrase that IMO.

  • Not to hijack the post, but what is considered "affordable"?  I've gotten quotes for just the bridal bouquet at $150+ and each centerpiece at $100+.  At that rate, it would cost $3000+ just for flowers.  That seems crazy to me, but that's at some of the "affordable" florists people have suggested.  Is anyone less than that?
  • Kimberose and Amy @ unique have given me the most affordable quotes although I haven't checked out all the ones suggested on this thread. I think it all depends on what you want. Some flowers are a lot more expensive than others. I'm not a big flower peson so I only want a bridal bouquet of 12 red roses and bridesmaids bouquets of around 8 roses. I know a lot of places do bouquets with a lot more flowers than that so that can drive up the price. I don't remember exactly what they quoted me but the bridal was under 100, the bridesmaids under 50, and single rose bouts/corsages were about 10. Hope that helps!

  • jsquared..........

My daughter's white rose bouquet with a sheer bow and satin stem wrap was @ $80.
Simple clutch bouquets for mothers were @ $30.  Corsages were @ $20.  Boutonnieres were @ $7 each.

As I said in a PP, we could not be happier with the designs and freshness of the flowers from Kimberose.  At some point just prior to the ceremony, we found we "undercounted" the number of corsages needed.  Kim was prepared and made a corsage "on the spot" identical to the ones made ahead.  She was amazing!
  • Mary from Flowers By Color & I didn't mesh either.  After I shared that I didn't want gerbera daisys she told me to go meet with other florists. The good news was - I had already and had fallen in love with Fabbrini's Flowers in Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates.

I thought his quote was fair & low - so that's the route I'm going.

  • I am working with Carol at Petal Peddlars in Vernon Hills, and she was extremely flexible on the cost for my relatively low flower budget (I'm NOT a flower person). I went to sit down with her and she even steered me away from expensive types of flowers and found things that worked with the vision I had given her.  She even found a way to give us more for less!  I am really enjoying working with her.
  • Thanks everyone! I think we're going to go with Kio Kreations out of Naperville!
  • Thanks for all these great ideas..
