Day after brunch

Are any of you having a day after brunch?

We're having one, and we're trying to keep it relatively inexpensive since the wedding itself is so spendy.  So we were thinking of having quiche, bagels, cream cheeses, lox tray, fresh fruit salad, and a cheese plate.  For drinks I was thinking coffee, orange juice and mimosas.  Does that sound adequate?

We're doing it at 11:30, but I would prefer to serve more breakfasty items than lunch.

Re: Day after brunch

  • We aren't going to be doing on. We are planning on going to my parents or my Brother and SIL's house to open al of our gifts. Since one of them will be taking them home for us. Its kind of a family tradition with my family.

  • We are doing one at my mom's insistance.  We are doing it at the hotel since almost all of our guests are from out of town.  We are basically just going through the regular hotel buffet and paying per person who goes through.  They are letting us use a room for free to gather for breakfast since our hotel block is there.

We are doing gifts with a small group of family later that day.

  • We are lucky enough that the hotel we are staying at and where we have our block of rooms at has a free breakfast buffet, so we are just all going to meet down there at the same time.
  • Our hotel also includes brunch for all guests who stay over, so that's what we're doing.  But I think what you're suggesting is more than adequate for a morning after brunch!
  • We aren't doing one because our flight to the HM leaves at 6am the next morning. (it was the only flight we could get that day) But, I think my dad is going to try and get our family who came in from out of town together to have breakfast before they all head back home. Especially bc it's going to be my aunt's birthday.

<div>This.  I was planning on specifying a time on the letter/itinerary that will be in the welcome bags.</div><div>
</div><div>ETA:  Also, since we're having a later, evening wedding (6:30 pm ceremony) we'll be bringing in lunch for the BP and some family who are staying at the hotel.  I decided that between the RD, the recpetion and the day of lunch, the hotel included breakfast was sufficient.</div>
  • I think what you said you're planning on serving is fine.  We are going to be doing the same kind of thing except we are doing it at a bed & breakfast that we rented in town for OOT family that won't be able to stay w/ my folks.

  • We aren't having a day after brunch. If we had a ton of OOTs staying at the same place we were, we probably would. However, we only have a few OOTs that are able to make it and most are staying with family/friends that live here. We're staying at the Ritz for the weekend and the few guests that do have hotel rooms are staying at other hotels around the valley.

  • I really wanted to have one but FI was deadset against it.  Considering that we're spending so much for the wedding, it wasnt something that I wanted to create a big fuss about.
  • Nope.  I want to sleep in the day after the wedding.  Also turns out we have only 2 OOT guests that are going to be able to make it and they're staying with FMIL.  She can feed them.

  • I think what you listed is great.  My mom has been planning on going all out, getting it catered (she'll be hosting it)...... but I'm trying to convince her to go the more laid back route.. I even read off your menu because I always love bagels, fruit, mimosas........ As long as you have plenty of coffee and carbs, how can you go wrong??

  • We are having a very casual bbq brunch/lunch the day after, at the same venue (parent's vineyard). It will be a nice chance to catch up with all the people that have made the trip as its a destination wedding for a lot of our guests and all of FIs side, and some are coming from Europe.

I think what you are serving sounds great.
  • Thanks ladies!

  • I think everything sounds good, although I would also maybe add a side of sausage or bacon.

We're not doing one, though the hotel has a really good breakfast buffet.  I think we're going to do a welcome bag for guests at the hotel, so we'll probably do a timeline of events and put breakfast on there.
