budget photographers

Does anyone have any recommendations for a budget photographer ($1000 or less for 6 hours). A photographer friend of ours was supposed to do it but that fell through and we don't have the money to shell out for a regular high priced wedding photographer - as much as we'd like to.

Is it possible to find someone good for less than $1,000? Wedding is in September in Brooklyn.

    </div><div>I once saw a suggestion in a wedding magazine to look for photogrphy students (student with lots of experience, just grauated or grad students) who are looking to expoand their portfolio. NYC several well-known art schools. Of course you must look at the kind of work they've done to see if they can actually do what you're looking for.</div><div>

    I worked with Angelica Criscuolo for our engagement party, and she was great. I think she has some packages for $1,000 (might be for four hours though, rather than 6).

    Connie Gledhill used to work as an assistant to a VOGUE and Vanity Fair event photographer for several years, now she's trying to be a photographer on her own building her photo book. I'm going to have her do my engagement photos!
