Engagement Picture Makeup...?

FI and I are taking our engagement pictures in May and I'm trying to figure out where to get my makeup done. We're going to be driving in to the cities from St. Cloud (pictures at 1:00pm). I know MAC has been highly recommended on here but a couple (probably silly) questions.....where is it? Should I make an appointment? If so, is there someone you recommend I make an appointment with? How long should I allow for it to take to get makeup done?

    MACs are located in Macys and probably other department stores and I think they have some free standing locations too, they have a  store locator on their website: http://www.maccosmetics.com/ I would recomment making an appointment, and I don't think it would matter with who (JMO opinion though!), mine took about 30 minutes, but I would give an hour just to be on the safe side.     Most people recommend going to the uptown one (located by Chino Latino) to get your makeup done. I think they are the most knowledgable. I would definitely make an appointment, that MAC is always busy. You just have to buy $50 worth of makeup to recieve a uninterrupted makeup session. You can get one done for free without buying the $50 but if customers are in the store, the MAC makeup artist has to help them out too.

    Random question, but if you go into MAC to just buy an item and they test out different colors on you, are you supposed to tip the person helping you?

    Oh! I went to MAC in Uptown for my e-pic makeup! Sarah Westman is the assistant manager of the store, and she did my makeup. She did a GREAT job! Highly recommend her.

    I did the off-the-floor appointment $50 fee, and even though it was off the sales floor in the middle of a weekday, it took an hour or so. Mostly cause she did a GREAT job listening to exactly what I wanted. Totally worth the money :)

    Give yourself at least an hour.  I showed up early to my appt., which was good because it gave her extra time to work.  I'd say mine took about an hour and 15 minutes.
