Anyone been to the Valley Regency or The Palace at Somerset Park?

We are about to decide between these two venues and would love to hear from anyone who has been to a wedding at either of these places or is having a wedding there. Decisions, Decisions!

I've been to VR but didn't have the best experience...I know that there have been a few ladies here who have had good reviews and if Im not mistaken, there are a few Palace brides out there now.

I just got married at The Palace 1 month ago today and it BLEW OUR MINDS. EVERYTHING was perfect and we are still getting compliments on the food. Everyone kept saying it was the best food they've ever had and that the service was beyond amazing. I couldn't speak more highly of it!  There WAS another wedding on the other side, but you would never know it! We didn't see or hear them once and we were there all day getting ready in their ENORMOUS bridal suite and even had our ceremony in the foyer between the 2 ballrooms. If you have any questions, let me know!! :)

PS - I'm also not a fan of the decor of the Valley Regency.

I'm a Palace bride... like Ashlieandfrank, we preferred the decor of the Palace over VR.  Many of the staff management are from the Pleasantdale so the food and service are impeccable.

I just sent you a PM too.

Best of luck!!!  You can't go wrong either way!

Edit: The Palace is on David Tutera at 3pm today.

I was also between The Palace and Valley Regency.  The Palace was my frontrunner until I went to Valley Regency.  I just felt that at VR you got a lot more for your money and loved that you had the whole place to yourself.  The Palace does two weddings at a time and didn't give as much food for the money.  Also, I knew two people that had been to weddings at The Palace and said the food wasn't worth the price (and food is number 1 in my family).

I haven't been to the VR, but I have been to The Palace and it was a very nice wedding.  The only thing I wasn't sure if I liked was that fourth wall being a curtain to cocktail hour...

Let us know what you decide! Don't think you can go wrong either way.
  • I booked my wedding at The Palace and am sooo excited!!!!!! I too looked at The Valley Regency but selected the Palace based on their menu and price and look/feel. They gave me an incredible deal that I couldn't resist. I couldn't be happier with my decision, as they were my top choice. Laughing
