April 2013 Weddings

Out of town bag idea

If anyone is doing OOT bags, I wanted to share a website that I ordered from.  www.minimus.biz. They sell individual packets of things like Tylenol, snacks, etc and they have lots of items you can't ordinarily find in the sample section of most stores.  My sister used them for her OOT bags and I just placed my order on Sunday and it's already on its way.

I especially like that they have a section of foods that are sugar free, kosher, etc for those guests who can't eat the usual snacks you'd put in an OOT bag.  I didn't have to buy a box of Crystal Light - I just ordered the 2 I needed for the 2 diabetics.  Saves me a little bit of money doing it that way, rather than buying the whole box that I'll never use.

Not trying to drum up business for them, just figured I'd throw it out there if anyone else is working on OOT bags for their guests and need ideas or have special dietary needs.

  • I was thinking a granola bar, some mints, chocolate, a bottle of water and a map of the area.
  • Agh, I have to start thinking of this. I think mints, granola bar, chocolate, water, maybe something salty? I really haven't thought much at all.

Sometime this week, I REALLY need to sit down and make a list of things I have to do before April!
  • I got the Tylenol packets, a few diet items for the diabetic guests, and the mini sewing kit from the site I posted.  I'll probably hit up Walmart or something when we get to Savannah for some cookies or crackers.  Definitely a bottle of water, and most likely some microwave popcorn, since the hotel where we have a room block has access to a microwave 24/7.  Those who are bringing kids will also get some crayons and small coloring books I found at the dollar store.

  • I bought koozies that came out so flipping cute on Vista Print with their groupon.  Bought 48 and cost me nearly nothing.
I am putting two bottles of water with the koozies (for couples) (singles get one)
Mini airplane bottles of local rum with mini Coke Can
    Key Lime Cookies (Florida feeling!)
Mini Sunscreen & Chapstick (staying on the beach for weekend)
    Map of area
    Chocolates
    Pretzel bag
    Tylenol

I bought most things in bulk along the way so wasn't too bad at all. I just need to buy the bags and assemble.

Also for the small amount of kids that are coming, the beach hotel gives out Sandpails. I am putting crayons and sealife coloring book along with snack and juice box in there.
