March To Do List

I liked this post for February (can't remember who posted it) bc it helped to keep me on track!  What are your To Do's for March?  Mine are:

Mail STDs
Meet with jeweler for wedding bands
Order invitations
Set a date for engagement photos to be taken
Save money!

I've got SO much going on. Keep in mind I have an ongoing DIY list... lol

    Book caterer
    Figure out table setup
Talk to rental company and reserve items
    Find seamstress
    Start registry
    Design invitations (and other stationary)

I'm sure I'm missing more but that's what comes to mind first.

    edited March 2012

    - Get done 3 DIY projects (garter, chair signs, WP gifts)
    - Figure out hair and buy necessary items.  Start practicing hair-do!
    - Decide on invite wording
    - Buy more wine glasses for centerpieces (time consuming since I'm trying to buy them at garage sales and such and only find 1 or 2 at a time....need 60 total and am not even half way there)
    - Save money!  Save money!  Save money!

EDIT: Put together FI's photo boudoir book because my Living Social deal expires May 6 and I want it done early since I have finals in April!

    • Find a time when my Dad can visit so we can do the tasting at our venue
    • Make a damn decision about my hair so I can pick out jewelry and hair accessories
    • Possibly book the rest of our hotels for the honeymoon

The thing I am most excited about is ordering my wedding band. I was indecisive for a for a long time about what I wanted and then last week I saw the perfect band on Etsy. It was more than we had planned to spend but FH was fine with the added cost. I just have to get sized and then they'll start making it. It's this band but with sapphires in place of the other stones.

The thing is there aren't more things for us to do! I had so much done so early on that I'm really only left with DIY stuff right now. Everything is booked and has been for quite some time. The only thing we "have" to do is registry stuff.

This is me too mama!  Nothing on my list has a deadline before the wedding date except the invites and photobook.  And the photobook I have two months to do.  Invites need to be in the mail in 4 months and aren't all that intricate (like yours!).  I keep debating between hurrying up and doing stuff because I want something creative to do or slowing down so I'm not thumb-twiddling in June.  Last night I was going to start a DIY project and I had to tell myself "No, you can relax for one night and just watch TV and go to sleep."  I have a midterm in 2 hours so I don't know why it even crossed my mind to start something at 11pm.

I'm so scared I'll run out of time for my projects - and I have 6 months!
We do start going to the cottage every weekend starting at the end of May/early June so that's why I want to have everything done and ready before then. I don't want to miss valuable time with my family and friends at the cottage. It's one of the reasons we are having a September wedding - none of us have to miss cottage time lol

March is going to be a little crazy for me (I'm pretty much booked solid the first 3 weekends), so I'm definitely not going to get as much done as I'd like to. We like to do all of our vendor appointments on weekends if we can since we are busy Tuesdays (quizzo night!) and FI or I sometimes work late another night or two. And, also, tiredness lol from working all day. However, I still have big plans to get a lot done!!!

-book our honeymoon (visit travel agent this coming monday)
    -order invitations (march 25th)
    -cake tasting (march 24th)
    -meet with florist (march 30th)

I might not get to one or two of these things. That's okay, I can push it back until april. I'm also going to do rings in april.

i'm sort of nervous because dan will be out of town for work for basically a month and a half starting in april. i know there's things i can do without him, but we still havent done tuxes or registered or looked at bands (or done our taxes!) and we need to do some of those things before he goes because when he gets back it will be cutting it close.

i also forgot that we still haven't booked our honeymoon, so we  need to do that too.

however, i think i'm pretty much decided on a DJ, and then next is photobooth!

FI and I read this over the summer together when we hit a rough patch.  It is amazing.  It's a super quick read and sooo insightful.  You'll enjoy it, promise!  Since reading, it became my go-to engagement present when my friends have gotten engaged.

I have my To Do list broken down into months before the wedding...

So Up to March 21st, I have left:
BOOK CATERER! (this needed to be done sooner, but all the restaurants close down the shore for the winter, so no one has been open for tastings!!)
    Start making my invitations
    Order my BM Dresses
    Register (Target & Macys)
    Print thank you notes
Contact rental companies for tables, chairs, etc.

And then March 22-April 21, I have left:
    Figure out flowers
    Help coordinate rehearsal dinner
    Book flights for honeymoon
Figure out ceremony music & let my musicians know my finaly choices
  • Options
Ohhh boy, March will be busy.

    - Nail down a caterer.
    - Decide if we want a cake or just wedding pies. Either way- they're coming from the same baker, I think, so need to get in touch w/ this person.
    - Look for a make-up person.
    - OFFICIANT! Holy schnikes.
    - Book seamstress for May or June.
    - First suit fitting this Saturday.
    - Meet with DJ on Monday.
    - Meey with day-of-coordinator on Tuesday.
    - Registries.
    - Sort out linen & other rentals when caterer is decided, get this info to DOC and florist.
    - Probably move forward on wedding bands.
    - Work on escort card concept I have in mind.
    - Book rental car for honeymoon (rest is done).
    - Decide when we'll do engagement shoot.
    - Get the ball rolling on invitations.
    - Work out!!!!
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
