Reception Dress Opinions!

I was at one point really against a reception dress because I love my dress:

However, after giving it some thought... It's probably going to get heavy/hot and I am going to want to dance!!

What are your thoughts about some of these DB dresses?

The third one is adorable. I don't like the other two at all. That's just my style, though. Honestly, your dress is so gorgeous, I wouldn't want ot change out of it. But if you really really want a reception dress, I say #3.

I like dress #1 or dress #3. I really dislike dress #2, but your ceremony dress is so much more beautiful than any of these it would just be a crime to change out of it.

Agreed! Your wedding dress is beautiful! I don't think it would be that hard to move around dance in, I would wait until your fitting and once they have everything pinned in place for your bustle you'll see how easy it is to walk around in!

#1 or #3, I think if u do a reception dress it should be short

i love #1 cuz its nothing like your dress and it will be such a shock to come out in something so totally different

Your ceremony dress is absolutely beautiful! I wouldn't want to change out of it! But, if you really want too, I would definitely go with #3

I like #1 & 3, I agree with PP who said that #2 seems almost pointless. If you're changing into a reception dress due to feeling like you'll be hot I feel like it should be a shorter dress.

I am wearing a reception dress too

I bought a tea length lace dress for it.

My pick would be dress #3, although I vote for keeping your original dress on if you have an indoor, air conditioned reception, since your original dress is so lovely!

I say keep your dress on! The other dresses just seem so plain and will have no wow factor to them when you change. After seeing how gorgeous your dress is, I'd be disappointed by the simplicity of the others...I'd be expecting something that could top your first dress (which it would be hard to do). If you absolutely insist, I like #3 the best.

Agreed! I like your ceremony dress. It'll probably be kinda uncomfortable, but it's so pretty, why would you want to take it off? Plus, it's not a big, heavy, taffeta ballgown or anything...

I keep telling myself that too, that I got a wedding dress I love, that I can only wear once, that's unique & original. I'm going to deal with the uncomfortable factor just because your dress is once in a lifetime!

Thanks, ladies! #3 is my favorite... I have an appt at DB today to try it on. If it or something else doesn't blow me away, I'm sticking with my original dress. I know I only wear my wedding dress for one day...ah, it's hard!!

I agree! No reception dress! You have ONE DAY to wear that dress! WEAR IT!!!! You will love it and from what I hear, it is not so bad staying in your dress all day. You won't even notice any discomfort becaause you will be swept up in the whole day. Those dresses pale in comparison.

I'm all for being comfortable and wanting to dance but at the same time, this is the ONE day you'll be able to wear your wedding dress so I say, stick with your gorgeous gown! Nothing else will come close to it .
