City BBQ or Hoggys

Hello ladies,

So currently my. Do they  FI and I are discussing a possible backyard BBQ but we do not want to cook ourselves so we are looking into getting either city BBQ or Hoggys caterer it. We are not planning on using the service, just have them set up and delivery.

I was just wondering if anyone had used them? Do they just drop it off and leave? or do they put it in containers that keep it warm? Is their food good? any other helpful tips.

Thanks ladies.

I have never personallly used either of their catering services, but have been to parties and functions where it has been there. I personally prefer Hoggy's over City BBQ, but that is just me.

A couple years ago friends of mine had Hoggy's cater for their rehersal dinner. They just dropped off containers of food and sauces. I don't believe they gave them anything to keep the food warm. I haven't seen City BBQ cater anything. While City BBQ is great, I prefer Hoggy's food as well.

I had Hoggys once at a work picnic, and I believe they delivered the food in those disposable aluminum trays, but they were at least on metal wracks with those little candle-warmer-things underneath.  (I know, great description.)  I would contact them and see if that is still and option and how much of a price difference it would be.

    It was yummy :)

I sent a request to City BBQ almost a month ago (via email) and still haven't heard anything back so I would recommend calling them.  The catering person listed online is Winni Mooney - Catering Hotline: (614) 538-1230.

I recently bought 5 pounds of pulled pork from Barley's (so good!) for a party.  We picked it up and it was in a disposable alumnium container with BBQ sauce in a separate styrofoam container and it stayed warm for a an hour or so just in the container.  I think whoever you go with you could make sure they use racks and sternos (the warmers) to keep the food warm.

    Good luck!

Definitely, Hoggys :) My brother and sister-in-law had city bbq cater for their military send-off and it was ok, they did deliver in aluminum trays with the heaters underneith.  I have not seen Hoggys cater, I would assume you could get the aluminum trays with heaters, but in my OPINION their food is WAY better and more diverse.
