Stupid marriage license question...

I'm filling out the license application and I have a quick question that I know could wait until we go tomorrow, but I figured I'd ask you all anyway.

When it asks for "birthplace," do they need a town and state or state and country?

Alright, so I'll do that and then FI will just put down city and country since he was born outside of the U.S.?

That is what I would do. Bring an extra blank copy just in case and you can clarify with them when you get there.

DH was born outside the country too. I'm pretty sure he put the state and country he was born. But just leave it blank and ask tomorrow.

The clerk actually filled out the form for us.  Some of the birthplaces, overseas, were so long that she just put the country.  *shrug*  Whatever works.  It probably all depends on your municipality.

Use whatever it says on your passports.  I would think that should be a good guideline.

Went today... they only wanted his country of birth, not his city.

    Thanks for the help!
