Re: October 12th brides: 7 months!

  • My biggest pet peeve with being in the 6.5-7 month range is that people keep telling me that we have time. If I want to order something now, do not tell me I still have time and it can wait. I want to get the small crap out of the way and paid for, plus get other things assembled so I am not sitting in my house in the summer. I would rather be outside, in the pool, drink in hand, getting my tan on.

Oh jeez.  Our engagement is half over (we got engaged in August 2012)!!  There is still so much to do!

  • EEK!  I feel like 7 months is pretty close and I don't feel like we have enough done either.   I think I like Stina's approach.  Get it done now, and get a tan in the summer.   I could certainly use a tan.
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.
  • I had a mild freak out too.  We are cake tasting on the Saturday before Easter so we'll finalize that, that weekend, and I'm hoping we can finalize the honeymoon details and put deposits down on that.  We have a few big budget things that I'm waiting to hear from, our florist hasn't sent us a quote yet, and we have to figure out the invitations.  I second McSteph EEK!!!!
  • It's a big EEK on my part.  I have no DJ, no officiant, cake tasting is later this month, flowers not till July.  FI hates the idea of shopping for wedding bands and tuxes.  I feel so far behind.
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.
  • Steph I know how you feel.  I have some of those, DJ we got lucky cause when I called to book, they were our 3rd pick, and the next day someone else tried to book them, that was a close one.  In a fantasy world the guy gets involved in picking out the tuxes on my end.  I showed FI some pics and he didn't care he deferred to me since he has no clue the dress styel and what not.  The only thing he said was tux over suit, and the rest I handled in a matter of 15 mins.  Walked in to a place, saw the perfect style on the dummy and got a good deal.  So maybe just try that route, ask him a style he likes and then you handle it.
  • Not a bad idea Libby.  I will try it and see how it goes.  He's helpful when I give him options.  he will pick what he likes best. Hopefully this weekend sees a bit of progress.
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.

Geez judging by the replies I feel like I'm ahead! LOL DJ, catering, photographer, dress, ceremony/reception hall, tuxes, are all paid for and reserved.

The only thing we're taking care of when taxes get here is the food for the caterers (friends of ours are catering, we just have to buy the food, they are preparing it), invites, save the dates, flower and decor. That's it!
