Guest Dress Etiquette

In your opinion, how much white is too much white for a guest to wear?
Should they wear no white at all? Or is it acceptable in a pattern?

More specifically, I have a wedding I'm attending as a guest next weekend. I have a patterned dress that fits me well, but it does have white in it. I've included a link to a picture picture in this post so you ladies can give a more accurate opinion.
Am I over-thinking this and my dress is perfectly okay, or should I be on the safe side and buy a Little Black Dress since I'm in need of one anyways?

Thanks ladies!

That dress is more than fine.  I'd never even notice the white.

  • I think that dress is absolutely fine to wear!

My personal thoughts on this is, white is fine when there are other colors in the outfit. Or one other color, as long as white isn't the dominant color.

  • There's not enough white to worry about it. I'd only worry if white or ivory was the main color.
  • Thanks for your opinions, ladies!

I figured that since it was in a pattern and wasn't the dominant color that it'd be fine, but I figured a second opinion never hurts!

  • Pretty.  Wear it.  But you need new shoes to go with it (I just gave you an excuse to go shopping)

  • Wearing white to a wedding is one of my biggest pet peeves on here.  I think there is never any reason to wear an all white or mostly white dress, when there are sixty three and a half billion other color possibilities.   But that dress isn't mostly white.  I don't know that I would even call that white, its more like a cream.   I think you're fine.

THIS. I wouldn't wear a white sundress or pantsuit to a wedding but if it's a pattern it's fine.

I wouldn't consider this a white dress at all.  Wear it and rock it!

I can barely see the white.

That dress is totally okay.  The only thing you should avoid wearing is an ALL white outfit.  Even then I doubt anyone would mistake you for the bride but better to avoid it. :)
