dress help!

We just booked our venue on Saturday (Pondhouse in West Hartford...can't wait for the food!!!) for this July 29th. I now desperately need to find a dress and I'm terrified that I wont' be able to get anything in quick enough. Does anyone have any recommendations for stores that can accomodate a short timeline? I've heard that sample sales can be a great place to pick up dresses as well but how do you find out about them?

I was great with everything else, venue, photographer, DJ, florist but I feel like a complete novice when it comes to my dress! Thanks :-)

Try Bridal Mall @ Niantic (a couple of bride's got them here).
Harold's in New Haven or North Haven.

Or try consignment shops like Love Me Two Times in Norwich.  There's another one in Glastonbury I can't remember.

Also Google bridal shops in CT and if any you find has a website check them out as they usually post sample sales online.

A friend of mine planned her wedding in 3-4 months and got her dress within that period of time (and altered!) too so you have plenty of time :)

    Good luck!

The one in Glastonbury is called Brides to Be, they're nice there and they have all off the rack dresses.

Most dress shops should still be able to accommodate you, you'll just need a rush cut. Depending on who makes it, it could go up to like $100, but at least you'll get your picks!

Check out Julie Allen Bridals in Newtown, thats where I got mine and they were awesomely helpful and nice!

I think you can find a dress in time at most places. Typically if you find a gown they have in stock or a sample they can sell it to you. For designer gowns you can always put a rush order in. It is more expensive though.

Ditto Classic Brides by Eva in Stratford, she's so sweet and she includes all alterations for free! My BM's got their dresses there and loved it.

I got my gown at Something Blue Bridal in Southbury and have nothing but great things to say about them as well. HTH!

Thanks again everyone. I went to Eva's on Saturday and had a great experience...I even ended up with a dress! I've already recommended the shop to another one of my friends getting married, I really can't say enough great things about that place!
