Bridesmaid Dress Measurements

Knotties, help me out!

I'm new to the Twin Cities and almost 5yrs post wedding planning. Where is a good place to get measurements for bridesmaid dresses? I'm a bridesmaid in 2 weddings coming up this year, but they are out of town so I have to order long distance.

I'm in St. Louis Park. Any close and free places come to mind? Flutter charges $25 (which can be used toward the purchase, but I can't purchase there).

    I can't think of any specifc places...but I have 2 out of state BM's and they both searched for bridal places around them that carried the designer we chose and called to see if they would take their measurements. 

    My sister lives in AZ and she had a hard time finding one so she went to a local seamstress, so I had her measurments when we ordered and they helped me figure out what size she needed.

    My BMs are in 3 different states (and all of those are different states than where I am!) They just went to a store that carried the brand of dress and asked to get measured.   All of the stores were happy to take measurements for them.....and none were asked to pay to get measured!  I can't believe that a store would charge for something that takes them 2 minutes to do!

    On a side note, I ordered the BM dresses from NetBride and on their website it has measuring and sizing instructions on a wide variety of dress designers.   You could check there to see if your designer is listed and it gives pretty specific instructions on how to take measurements....if you wanted to try to do them yourself...

    If you've got a tape measure, they REALLY aren't that hard to do yourself... Chest is measured arms down to the side and measure across the "nip" with the bra you're likely going to wear.. Waist is across your belly button (where you consider your "natural waist" point)... hips are at the fullest point (typically where the leg meets the rest of the body...)
