Pinot, it just says he can kill it, but not HOW. I'm guessing that shooting it isn't permitted, because shooting anything inside the city isn't permitted. I mean, a bomb would kill it, or a grenade, but he can't do that, can he? And, lala/mery/kate - I concur. Although, after the second abortion for BC purposes, I'd prefer they heavily push an IUD at the woman. C'mon.
    Posted by squirrly
I agree with this. I'm not saying "hooray! Abortions are awesome!" but I am saying that if a woman wants one, she should have one, regardless of the number of abortions she's had previously.

I'm considering an IUD, through Planned Parenthood. I don't have insurance, which is ONE of the reasons I don't want kids yet.. But I'm terrified that it will grow into my uterus, and I won't be able to have kids at all.. Everyone I asked about it (who either had one, or didn't for some reason or another), said that they knew someone that it (or something similar) happened to, or it happened to them.. I 'm planning on making an appt, and discussing all the risks soon to figure out if it's right for me..

I'm on NuvaRing right now, and I no likey..

All of our dogs are shelter dogs. I've never even thought about them harming us or any kids we may have. Can't dogs from breeders be unstable and injure someone? I just don't agree with your logic here. I don't know is there some study out there that shows shelter dogs to be more unstable than bred dogs?

srsly? that sounds like an old wives tale to me.
  • IUDs are awesome. I am so happy with mine. Luckily I have a drug plan through work and healthcare is free so I paid $10 for mine.

I think that if people who are pro-life don't picket and force their beliefs on others, then that's fine. They can have as many babies as their hearts desire (or not desire, but have because they don't believe in abortion). BUT, the ones who preach, well they can fuuck their hats. They are entitled to their opinions, but so are us pro-choicers and that's all there is to it.

I have the Mirena IUD and love it. It's awesome. I've had it for a year and a half and no problems at all.

I did get it for $25 through my health insurance. Without it, it would have been around $800. Abortions cost about $350-900, at PP.

I agree that all BC should be more affordable/available, but with IUD's it is strongly recommended (at least in my area) that if you are in your twenties or do not already have a child to not get it. So for someone who is young, has no kids, and is gettings abortions, I really think that it comes down to they need to either be more educated about BC or still have a lot to learn about responsibility. That is just IMO though. IUD's may also be more available in different areas. I just know this because my cousin who has a child and is 22 had a really hard time getting her IUD. He doc tried very stongly to persuade her not to get it and get on some other type of BC.

I have a sneaky suspicion that most of the people using abortion as BC probably aren't getting regular pelvic exams or seeing much of a doctor at all.
In Response to Re: Flammable Confessions : Honestly, I could care less if a woman uses it for birth control. My life isn't affected if she doesn't have the kid, but there's a chance that my tax dollars will be used to help raise the child. While I am okay with giving someone a leg up when they need it, I find it funny that people who are "don't use abortion for birth control" are also the people who scream "I don't want to pay for the welfare" as well.
    Posted by btrflykate1230
Yep, I agree. Of course I would prefer if someone didn't use it for BC. But I would rather them abort, then bring an unwanted kid in this would. Dependency Court has opened my eyes. I wish the pill and condoms were subsidized by the government.

To give support. To show that we care and make an effort to still see him, even if he can't interact with us. The mom has asked friends to go visit him and talk to him. Per her, the doctors said that he may be able to know when and if people are there and that hearing familiar voices helps. If I was in a coma and woke up to find out most of my friends didn't visit me, I'd be pretty bummed. He's the one in a coma who will never walk again even if he does wake up. Using the "I don't want to see him since it would be too difficult" strikes me as selfish as he is far more worse off than those who may or may not visit him.

  • Confession: I ran over a bunny while driving through Joshua Tree National Park.

To be fair, the rabbit couldn't make up it's mind if it wanted to cross the street or not. It went halfway then turned around. All I saw was a little tuft of fur in my rear view mirror. I called my parents (it was like 6am pacific, but 9am eastern) and was really upset.
