    7. What is your current job? Admissions Director and clinical supervisor

    8. What is your dream job? Chief Compliance Officer (preferably of my own company)

    9. How did you and your fiance meet? FI and I met in college through two of my Sorors (they went to high school together).  FI and I were good friends for 8 years before we started to date.  We have known each other for 16 years now!

    10.  When did you get engaged and how did he do it??  December 13, 2010! FI invited me to his house for dinner after service and cooked some of my favorites.  After dinner and dessert, FI told me he wanted us to play a game.  At first this was nothing big because he and I love to play Scrabble.  However, the game he wanted to play was a scavenger hunt!  So, he had six clues for me, here are the items I ended up bringing back:  1-a rhoyal blue vase, 2-a barbell, 3-a 5x7 framed picture of me, 4-three long stem roses, and 5-a black velvet bag with card.  So, when I returned with the last item I asked if I should sit down and if he was going to make me cry.  So, I sat down, he went into the black velvet bag and handed me one of rings I left at his house a few weeks prior!!!  I was laughing and crying and popped him all at the same time.  So, he had me sit down again and then he read me a poem he had written.  The last line of the poem FI read as he kneeled on one knee "Vickey, will you grant me your hand in marriage?"  I said yes, laughing and crying.  Then, once I cleared my eyes I saw the ring out of the corner of my eyes and asked FI did he plan on putting the ring on my finger?!?  We were so excited he forgot!  LOL
     Meaning (representation) of the items I had to find: 1- My ring.  I was given a sapphire and diamond platinum ring.  2- The strength of our relationship. 3- The woman in his life:) 4- Our past, present, and future.
    5- This was the sucker move!  The cardboard ring giftbox in the velvet bag did not hold the engagement ring, it actually had rocks in it to give it weight and throw me off!  The card however, beautifully explained how he feels about us! BTW- The actually engagement ring was in a gorgeous wooden ring box with the designer's name. I know, this was long:)

    Nice learning more about you...

    What has been the most challenging during the planning process?

    How do you think that the friendship you two had prior to dating has helped with your relationship?

    I love proposal stories and yours was no exception. I love how the items that you found were all symbolic of something special.

    I'm considering a career change and have been entertaining thoughts of law school...Environmental or Health Law in particular. Any advice you could give me on first steps to take toward making this happen?

    Thanks for sharing...I enjoyed reading about you!

    Thank you ladies!  I know I wrote a great deal and it probably took some time to read!  LOL

    @Summerbride- Engagement date 12/13/09

    @TysWife2Be- Most challenging during the planning process...I have to say my family.  Unfortunately, everyone has not been "Yay for Vickey; let's rally behind her!"  I have to say, my faith in God is most reassuring during this time of my life.  I remain faithful.
    Friends before dating and marriage- It has helped greatly!!!  FI and I were reassured in premarital counseling that the best marriages begin with friendship as the foundation ["friendship love"] (So You're Getting Married  by Dr. H. Norman Wright, p 15)  Being friends first allowed FI and I to get to know each other without the dating pressure and to accept each other totally (looking jacked up, etc).  It also helped us see each other as people before lovers.  I can honestly say I am marrying my bestfriend...huge bonus:)

    @eagles347 - Thank you!  FI would blush LOL.  As far as advice for law school, I would research different schools and there respective programs (some are stronger in certain areas of law).  Also, what do you want to do in the health or environmental arena?  I am not saying not law school, I am saying you may be able to abtain a different degree to assist you in furthering your career goals (without the law school price tag).  Some schools that may be of interest: Seton Hall Law and Widener Law.  They both have a masters program in Health Law (I can't think of the other schools).  Also, for the LSAT definately take a prep course!  The format changed a few years ago and is more hair pulling than before:)  If you have any other questions page me or send me a private message, I would be glad to helpl!!  BTW- Also, you could check out Law School Forums and/or meet with your undergrad prelaw advisor for additional assistance (even if you graduated years ago).  Check out www.LSAC.org for great law school info and advice!  HTH

    Thanks again ladies!! I was soooo looking forward to being Knottie of the Day!Smile
