Re: I'm gonna be that girl

  • JK, this is going to be a stupid question, but how do you use the tea tree oil on your back? Do you have your H help you out or do you have something else that helps you reach?
  • Oh! I use tea tree oil as well. If it's for just a pimple here or there I'll soak the end of a q-tip in water, then put just a drop of oil on it, then apply to the pimple. If I'm having all-over bad skin I do it more like J&K, with a cotton ball. It smells really strongly, but that fades fairly quickly.

  • birdie i just contort and reach, i guess. i dont have too much trouble reaching where i need to, i just have to from a couple different angles to cover everywhere.

  • I don't know if you've been to a dermatologist but there's a hormonal drug called spironolactone that mine prescribed to me when I was younger and badly suffering from chin (hormonal) acne. It worked great and I had another friend tell me that it worked well for her too. Good luck :)

  • I take Apri. It's a BC pill. I've been on this pill since I was 15 or 16 for hormonal/cycle issues and I recently got off of it for 2 months- my face broke out like I was an adolescent again. It must be pretty strong cause I had really bad acne as a teen- like rash all over my face. I started taking it again this month and my face is already almost completely clear again...

  • I take the generic of Yasmin (because it's cheaper), called Ocella. I was originally prescribed Yasmin to help with acne, and whether due aging or BC, I haven't had issues with my skin.
  • I can't do BCP at all (they turn me crazy), so I use Retin-A for acne and went through an eight week course of antibiotics (minocycline).

I'm intrigued about the Clarisonic now. For those who say it's helped with acne scars, do you mean red marks or pitting? I have actual scars (not red marks) that my dermatologist says the Retin-A will eventually improve, but I'm open to other options.

  • I'm really late to this thread, but I took Yaz for a couple of years and loved it (only off it now because of TTC). That said, my skin has been pretty well behaved for the most part since going off it two months ago- hopefully it'll stay that way!
