How do you keep your ring

Clean? I have to take my ring in every 6 months to get inspected and they always clean it for me and when they do its like im looking at it for the 1st time. Its so sparkly and pretty lol. I have jewelry cleaner but it doesnt give it the same look. Ive been trying to keep it clean lately by not having it on when putting on lotion or washing my hands but its so hard. Especially since im working with patients and have to wash my hands fifty hundred thousand times a day.

What do yall do? How often do you clean your ring?

This! I clean my ring everyday or every other day. It's never as sparkly as when the jeweler does it. i use the stuff that came with the ring. I noticed that I need to clean under the diamond and in all of the grooves of the setting so the light can reflect correctly. I use the little brush to get in there. My fiance thinks I'm crazy.

  • although I dont have a ring. I was engaged before and the jewelry store in Baton Rouge  I was able to just frop in and bring my ring to them for cleaning if I was in the mall. I never cleaned that ring on my own I always took it in....hopefully by time I get my ring I will still be able to stop in and do the same!

  • My ring is sparkly everyday and this is all I do seriously - 1 tablespoon dishsoap, and 1 cup of VERY hot water. Let soak for 20 to 30 minutes and it's shiny and sparkly as the day you bought it.

I don't even do it once a week anymore; about every two weeks and it's good as new.

  • Kay's will cleaning it for me whenever. I still haven't taken it.
  • Robin Brother's cleans mine when I take it there but it has been a minute so I think I'm gonna try to dishsoap and VERY hot water!!

  • I must admit, I'm bad with mines.  I haven't cleaned it myself since I've had it.  I just have the jeweler clean it when I take it in for the inspections.  But I need to try the dish soap and hot water.  That's a good tip!

Now DH on the other hand is insane with his ring.  Every time he's anywhere near the jeweler, here he goes prancin in there to get his cleaned.  He's a mess!!!

  • Yep!! I use that itty bitty brush too!! I soak mine most days too.  I know how you feel though.  When I'm working on the floor and have to foam up so much I immediately run to the jewelry soak when I get home! And if I am in the mall I always stop by Kay's.

Futuremzhayden..girl.. whooo..robinbrother..we tried but the lady gave me the marker to pick the ones I like..so I chose 2...well the first one I chose was 19,000..I was like ok..what about the second one? She was like, oh, this one is also gorgeous at 21,000..teeeheee...and they both we only one ct...after that we were too shame to even ask the lady about a ring in the budget of 5,000...must be nice..lol..hubby and I now look back and laugh at those engagement pics they have on the wall..the chick is all estatic and the dude look like he just lost his puppy...we went right across the way to Jared..

any-hoo..back to the orginal question..I clean mine every other day in the solution they gave me from the jeweler..yep with the little brush!! but I want to invest in a really nice electic cleaner..I know my mom had one back in the day that she swore by...

  • I've never cleaned mine personally :(  But FI is anal, so he cleaned it before, I think in like a mix of Green rubbing alcohol. Who knows what he used, but it was super sparkly afterwards.

  • HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT water.I mean boiling hot. I stick it on the end of a toothbrush (not the bristle end but the handle end) make sure it's tight/secure and run it under the hottest water my sink can produce for about 1-2 minutes.

    Works like a charm ;)
