I'm writing an article on weddding crashers. Do you have any funny stories? Have you ever crashed a wedding or did someone crash yours?

Post below, if so, and thank you!

My brother went to a bar during the cocktail hour and brought a Russian hooker back to the reception. She's in every damn group shot there is.

    Does that count?

i had shower crashers. this group of little old ladies came into the room at the restaurant where MIL had my shower. they walked around for a few minutes and sat at one of the tables. MIL didn't recognize them, so figured they were from my list and went over to greet them. "hi, how do you ladies know *Barbie*" - "oh we're here for "Lindsey's shower"  (not me) but yours looked so much nicer we figured we'd stay." MIL had to kick them out.

sadly. we did not have any Russian hookers.

My stbx's uncles (2) and cousin drove from NEBRASKA to FLORIDA, uninvited, to attend the wedding and reception.  They wore jeans, tshirts and boots that night.  They also expected to be fed, provided drinks and a free hotel room for the night.  I am fairly sure they ended up on the floor in the grandparents' room.

I know we're all about BS here, but FWIW, my Russian hooker story is real.  My brother, his (uninvited) roommate, and my cousin all spent the reception trying to be the one to take her home.  (OK, she wasn't a hooker hooker. That I know of. She was just a random Russian tourist who my brother picked up and brought to the wedding. But hooker sounds so much better and was so much more fitting for the dance floor gyrations.)

My father talks about going to college in the early 1950's and being COMPLETELY broke...but he had a really nice black suit.  He and his roomate would go to wedding receptions and funeral receptions for the food and then leave :)

At my wedding in 1980, I have a photo of us talking to a couple.  I didn't know them.  I showed the picture to both sides of the family and no one knew them.  We also had one gift without a tag that was never matched to anyone.  So, if they crashed...at least they brought steak knives!

My daughter invited two coworkers, each with their spouse.  They responded yes.  On the day of, they were not there but two other people from her office were there with dates.  Apparently something came up and they just handed the invites to someone else.  None of the above brought gifts  :)
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
