August 2012 Weddings

Updated to-do lists?

Hi ladies! As everyone has already mentioned, I can't believe it's July already! And while I know I'll be happy when the big day comes, I can't look past the fact that I'm running out of time to get things done. I feel like I'm behind on this stuff. So I thought I would check in with everyone's to-do list. Here is mine (and it's still quite long):

-need to decide on cake design (we're meeting with them Thursday for this!)
-decide on hair style (trial is July 14, so this will be figured out then too)
-find hair accessory/ies (will do after the trial)
-write vows
-compile music lists (in progress)
-work on table images (instead of #s)
-seating chart needs to be made (I bought a frame for this already, but waiting on RSVPs)
-finish card box (I'm almost done with it!)
-make list of shots for photographer
-decide on readings
-make bouquets (the 1st attempt was not successful)
-make programs
-decide on what flower girl will hold
-decide on jewelry/accessories (also kind of waiting on the hair trial for this)
-make gifts for BP/buy gifts (making some things for BMs, but I want to get them something else but I don't know what yet)
-obtain marriage license
-Guest Book/comment cards

Things lower on my priority list:
-programs
-make a picture board for reception

Did I forget anything? Several things are just in limbo right now, so maybe it feels worse than it is? Just gotta keep on going, I guess! Hope you all aren't stressing too much!

Re: Updated to-do lists?

  • I feel like every time I look at mine I add something new. I'm definitely going to need to prioritize at some point...

    - Seating arrangment (pending RSVPs)
    - Apply for and obtain marriage liscence
    - make sash for flowergirl's dress
    - print table numbers
    - Figure out and obtain all ceremony music (iPod)
    - Ask our friend to do the reading at the ceremony

It feels like a lot more than it looks... haha

These are just my major ones haha my list goes on and on...I need to get my butt motivated!!

  • I feel like there is way too much on my to-do list...starting to freak out...

-find one last lodging for honeymoon/look into local activities for honeymoon
    -buy parents gifts
    -finish making table numbers
    -make ceremony programs
    -make day-of-timeline
-communicate with orchestra leader about reception
    -assemble centerpieces
    -make rehearsal dinner invites
-get marriage license/FIND FH'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE. I am stressing about this one.
    -finish buying/assemble wedding party gifts
    -find gifts for others involved
    -make seating chart
    -make placecards
    -meet with venue (this Sat)
    -confirm with baker

This is my list of things that I want to have done by the end of the month (wedding is August 18)

    - Buy wine box and materials to go in it
    - Finalize and print programs
    - Finalize song list and timeline for DJ (already have this mostly done)
    - Finalize photography schedule
    - Meet with venue to finalize day of schedule and plan details
    - Create seating chart
    - Make escort cards
    - Buy wedding party and parent gifts
    - Do trial hair and make-up
    - Do second dress fitting
-Talk to florist to add bouquets for pillars at ceremony
    - Finishing gathering books for centerpieces
    - Make table numbers
    - Confirm hotel reservations
    - Send day-of-schedule and rehearsal dinner information to bridal party
    - Call baker about surprise groom's cake for rehearsal dinner

Then I'm hoping that by the time August rolls around, all I will have left to do is get the marriage license, confirm with and pay vendors, and do my final dress fitting.  I know that my to-do list at that point will actually be much longer, but I can dream!
