My cat is named Gidget too- she is below. She was very tiny when we got her (less than a half a pound). I don't have any recent pics on my work computer.

She is the best- love animals and can't wait to get more.

• This is Leroy (aka bad bad Leroy Brown). He is a mutt, but we love him like he was a purebred! This was the day we picked him up from the rescue. He had a funky smell, so we gave him a bath resulting in the saddest puppydog face I've ever seen!

[QUOTE]rak, if it bores you, don't read/look/play along. Here's Max, last night, watching Criminal Minds with me. The SECOND before I took this, he was staring intently at the TV, I swear. But, he's still looking at it. I think he grew tired of hitting himself in the head with his Kong Buddy. And yeah - this is what he looked like the day we brought him home on the same couch (7 months of growing):

Umm, pretty sure I didn't say it bored me, just that the same thing was done 3 days ago.

And the only reason I keep coming back into this thread is to see if the girl who claims to own a "teacup beagle" posts so I can flame//educate her on them. :)

• What? I thought you brought the snacks?

the one and only dusty bear on a little backcountry ski outing with me and his dad -
such a big, brave little cuddle bug! The puppy dog, I mean :)

• Thanks raynes...they are so cute when they cuddle :) Plus, Gidge is HUGE compared to Morgan and it's pretty amusing.
• This is Cassius....not so much a puppy anymore :(

This is when he was smaller.

haha, teacup beagle... when I got my maltese, the owner told me there's no such thing was "teacup" anything, and that's just a term used by breeders to raise the price of the dog.

[QUOTE]Aww, fun. I *hope* I'll have kitten photos to share tonight. We have been trying to adopt for weeks now and one thing or another always happens and we're not able to make it happen. But we're supposed to bring home a pair tonight! I really hope this works out. I'm not sure I can take the disappointment again.

Why is it that any crack addict can pop out ten kids and adopting a dog requires ten levels of security? I was renting when I adopted Bax and my friend's parents had just put their house in her name, so we pretended to be lesbian lovers so we could adopt him.
BTW--love Beagle mixes, too, for obvious reasons.
• The picture of Senor Kitty Paws inside the velveeta box is killing me with cuteness! So adorable!
• Julez, it looks like H is holding SKP with oven mitts in the first pic! That made me smile.

That's actually a good idea since she's going through a terrible biting and scratching phase. My hands look awful right now, not to mention my poor toes.

Anybody who wants SKP can have her for a little bit. Please return her once she's past this current bitchy phase.

In return, I'll need to take Leroy.

25 lbs. now and a good poser!

Ha! That's awesome.

Thankfully it's not our landlords that are the problem--they're totally on board. The shelters near us are really shifty about their adoption hours, so we've showed up four times now to what were supposed to be the adoption hours, only to find no one there because of holidays, changes in schedule, severe weather, and so on. But I've been emailing with them like crazy, and tonight should be the night.

http://www.barkrescue.net/teacup.htm In case you or anyone else cares to read more.

And re: teacup beagles, whoever the girl was talking about them said her friend paid a huge amount of money for it. It's a mix between a regular beagle and some sort of small terrier!! A mutt! Not there is anything wrong with mutts, but there is no need to pay a large sum for them when there are thousands of mutts in rescues/shelters. Also, the poster was saying that he beagle was only 15 pounds and most beagles are 30-40 pounds. Ummm, no beagle should weigh 40 pounds! I dog-sit a beagle that weighs 30 pounds and is considered overwight. Myfull grown beagle is 22 pounds, and is at her healthy weight. Anyway, sorry, I work with a beagle rescue if you haven't picked up on that yet.

Thanks for adopting from a shelter :) Sometimes it does take shelters/rescues a while to connect with potential adopters because they are mostly run by volunteers, are short staffed, etc. Hopefully you will get your kitty tonight and your patience will have paid off :)
