I'm an AW with a question

Several of you know already, but I ordered little tote bags for all of my bridesmaids (custom designed by yours truly).  Now, I'm a little stuck.  I want to get a few little things to put inside the bags, but I'm not sure what I can do that's affordable but not cheap, if that makes sense.  They'll all have some jewelry that Tarra is making, but that's more for me than for them (HP-inspired bangle bracelets!).  I thought about doing bottles of wine, but two of my BMs are under 21, so yeah...  Any ideas?

Oh yeah, AW time now!  Here are the bags:

(I'll probably DD the images later since they have names on them).

One of the things I got them all were these clicky

They have their names, a dress with their initial, and the word bridesmaid or MOH. They are actually like window cling stickers so they can peel off the bridesmaid stuff after and use them at work or whatever.

The link isn't working for me, but tumbler cups are a great idea!  I have one that I use all.the.time.

    Thanks, Jaycee!

ETA:  Now I can get the link.  Thanks!  I probably won't get "bridesmaid" ones but I may just go to Bed Bath and Beyond and pick some out.
  • Those are so cute Elle! Could you do wine for the ones who are over 21 and like sparkling apple cider or something for the ones who are under 21?

I won't feel bad if you feel like that is a totally lame suggestion :)

Do you have any Five Below stores? I saw them there with awesome designs. I liked the fact that they clings peel off so they can re-use them.

Those are great ideas, too!  You guys totally unblocked my brain.  I was shot for ideas and now I've got several.  Thanks!

    Hahah Beth.  You're cute.

It's not a lame suggestion at all.  If I had junior bridesmaids or something I would definitely do that.  It's just that the girls I have who are under 21 are 18 and 20...  so, really, they're old enough that they've had wine before...  haha.  I just feel like their parents would get mad at me if I gave them wine.  Does that make sense?
  • Welcome hopefully we sparked some good ideas.  Movie theater gift certificates might be cute too!

  • Ooooh...ok I was thinking they were younger than that. That totally makes sense.

The nail polish is a fabulous idea!  I was thinking about including some kind of beauty product, but I wasn't sure how to accomodate all the different tastes and complexions.  Nail polish is perfect.

So I'm thinking nail polish, Godiva chocolates, and a plastic tumbler.  Good?

    I think that's perfect!

And I bet your FG would love getting sparkling apple cider (or any other flavor). Kids are so easy to make happy!

Yeah, I'm not worried about FG.  She's a total girly-girl, so I'm going to buy as much sparkly crap as $20 will get me at Claire's and just load her down.  I do think she'd love having "wine" to drink, though.

I got my FGs Rapunzel water bottles and Mickey/Minne Mouse t-shirts (the mice were standing on Michigan ave, the big shopping district here. . . so cute)! Kids are fun to give gifts to :)

I got something similar to this the very first time I was a BM. The bride did a BM survival kit in a handmade bag. I wanna say it contained things like mints, a small bottle of hand lotion, fun Band-Aids, a hotel sewing kit & lip balm. (Plus our jewelry, which was gorgeous.) It was very thoughtful & inexpensive.

ETA: OH! And what about getting the FG something like kid-friendly bubble bath & a magic wand/crown set? In another wedding I was in, the bride gave the FG (who was about 6) a magic wand & tiara that probably had come from the dollar aisle at Target, and the FG ate it up -- she was running around casting spells on everyone at the rehearsal dinner.

  • I think they're bringing their own, Lennon.  A couple of them mentioned it....

I just got back from shopping madness today, and I ended up getting everyone some Essie nail polish, a box of chocolate covered espresso beans, and a bar of some yummy-smelling specialty soap.  With the jewelry from Tarra, that'll be a nicely-stocked tote bag I think.
