I don't want to want to leave.

I don't want everyone else to leave.

I want this place to be one where we can discuss our everyday lives and harp on newbs freely!

I dream of a day where the same questions will not be asked three times a week.

When people will lurk before posting.

When people will realize that most of us have been flamed at one time or another so don't take it personally.

When people realize that doesn't give you an excuse to continue acting like an idiot.

I dream of that day.

I'm going on a limb when I say this. Sorry I wish you could have that back, but it isn't going to happen. Boards evolve and change but at least you can gripe about it. I know the feeling though, I'm a moderator on another board and in the two years that I've been a part of it, I have seen it change so much that I really don't want to be involved with it anymore. I hope that you find some happy medium here.

Changes suck (and I suppose I contributed to it being a n00b and all). The FB group I'm a admin on slowly puttered out and it was very sad. People just got too busy with life.

I want to give good advice and people actually take it.
I want to beat on stupid people...newb or not.
I want to enjoy our conversations but I also don't want puppies and rainbows (unless those puppies are my pugs. Then I'm down)

Take it back? Idk. I know I'm a newb and I'm sorry if I have contributed to the change in the feel of this board, but I'm getting tired of seeing the exact same question over and over too. Maybe if the posters get told "scroll down, you'll find that question was asked yesterday" instead of everyone answering again it'll stop that a little? On any other forum I post on, if someone asks a really common question, they get told to "do a search" and no one gets their back up about it being mean.

This is the only board I enjoy on TK (besides the fact that I don't have much to contribute on the boards where people are actually engaged) because of the blunt, straight forward, sometimes snarky comments. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen IMO.

I also need to face the reality that there are going to be newbies and that some of them are great. I love Angie and even though (big confession here) GPB, you used to drive me nuts but you've really grown on me and I like you now! Narwhal and Paige both joined after me and are great.

I need to realize that motolyn speaks the truth.

I need to stick to my convictions and keep the crazies in check. We all need to stick around so that the board doesn't lose control.

I'm with you Narwhal - I miss the way this board used to be where we could banter with each other and everyone wasn't so easily offended. But the board is changing and I'm finding myself less and less interested in what is going on here. I probably won't be posting as much with school starting up but I plan to hang around awhile longer.

I'm on the school bandwagon as well - this summer gave me loads of free time to post, but once classes start up again in two weeks I'm probably going to be around less frequently. I don't want to leave though. Save for the thin-skinned newbs and the drama llamas, I really like this group of women!

GPB - I can understand what the others are saying. You got into the swing of posting really fast compared to other newbs. Initially l was like 'who is this girl?' So, you surprised me. That being said, I like you.

I can't really put my finger on what it is but I don't think it's gone forever and I don't think it's really anyone's fault. There are a handful of female riders but the majority of the forum is male populated. It is quite a different dynamic dealing with males most of my day and switching over to a female dominated board. But when I first started on the other forum the dynamics were more close knit and everyone got along and we had so much fun with one another male or female. Now a days there are more people who are new that just want to stir the pot and cause drama. I miss the good old days when noobies didn't join up and ask the same questions over and over when a simple search would have brought up the same question they want to ask. But what I realize is this, as long as you stay in touch with the people who were around when you were around, and guide the noobies then the board can maintain the same dynamics or at least close to what it was. I know I'm new to this board, I enjoy reading about everyone's daily happy moments and stressful issues, makes me feel normal that I'm not the only one with quirks. </div><div>

Aw, KD, love you, too. Love all you gals. This board has been great for me. After I got burned on a NASCAR fan club board (became IRL friends with some of them for a couple years then all of a sudden some of them thought it would be fun to talk smack about me and a couple others on the board), I swore I wouldn't get involved in other message board. This has been different, though. I can really relate to most of you. I post on some of the other boards, but I just don't feel the same connection on those boards as I do here. I'm still hoping I get a full-time job soon, but when I do, that just means I won't be able to post all day long, but it certainly won't stop me from dropping in everyday.
