Plus-size brides

I tried on dresses for the first time last night at David's Bridal and had a pretty good experience. I only tried on 4 dresses and found 2 that I liked a lot. I definitely want to look more, though, as my wedding isn't until September 2012. I would like to know what people's experiences have been at Luxe Bridal Couture or The Glass Slipper. These are the two plus-size boutiques that I know of. I am looking to stay under $700, and if I could stay under $500, then I would be even happier. Will I find something in my budget at a plus-size boutique, or should I stick to the David's Bridal type stores?

Just for the heck of it, here's a pic of me in one of the dresses I really liked at DB, as well!

Def recommend you check out The Glass Slipper. The staff there is WONDERFUL and they actually have a wide range of prices and a selection. Please check them out before purchasing from DB.

That dress makes your waist look tiny!  Love it!  Not sure about the top though...Did you try on any strapless?  I am a plus size bride as well and I think I want some kind of strap but maybe strapless will turn out to look nicer?

That dress looks lovely on you!  And I'm not a fan of DB (mainly because I feel their customer service sucks).

I've heard nothing but great things about the Glass Slipper :0)  GL with your search and let us know (and include pics!) when you find the ONE!

I LOVE LOVE LOVED The Glass Slipper!  They do run sales so I would check the website to see if any are coming up.  I have been to DB and Luxe, and they were good but I just had such a great experience with The Glass Slipper!  I would recommend you look there!

MplsBride12 - did you end up going to The Glass Slipper or Luxe?  What about The Wedding Shoppe?  I am also a plus-size bride and haven't started the dressing shopping process yet... and I'm sad to say I'm kind of dreading it because I'm so scared nothing will look good & it will just be a terrible experience!

    Any advice?
