Backyard wedding/Dance floor on pool/South Jersey Catering

Helllo All,

I am having such trouble with venue selection.  My fiance's family is coming from PA and I am located in northern NJ.  We were originally looking at all the typical venues in northern NJ, but they all seem very expensive for a Saturday night in the summer on our budget.  Since the PA people are going to have to travel anyway,  I am now thinking that I will try to have it is the backyard of my father's shore house in Manahawkin. Does anyone have any advise for me on tents and dance floors.  We are looking for a vendor that could do a dance floor over the pool and also good caterers in south jersey.

Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!!

I think you will find its less hassle and expense to just have it at a place.  Why not the Sea Shell hotel in LBI?  http://seashelllbi.com/

<div>This is a good point.  Having it at your father's house means that you will have to rent the dance floor, tent, chairs, tables, linens, flatware, several plates per person, severla glasses per person, etc., and you'll have to worry about things like sufficient electricity for the music, enough bathrooms, space for parking, etc.  It is not only a hassle, but also may not save you any money.  I bet it would be lovely, but if your reason for doing it is to avoid hassle/save money, I wouldn't count on it.</div><div>
</div><div>As someone else said, I'd ask on the South Jersey board for recommendations.  One good company I know is South Jersey Party Supply (<a href="http://www.sjparty.com" rel="nofollow">www.sjparty.com</a>), but they are near Philly so it may be too far for you guys.</div>

I know that Branches in Long Branch provides outside catering but again it may be too far outside your area. In all honesty, I have heard from others that it is good but I have not tried their food myself. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but like others mentioned the South Jersey board may have better recommendations.

These guys are not local but do travel and are great and not only cater but do event planning. Can't hurt to check them out.

MY wedding was outside in my husbands aunt's backyard. When all was said and done we paid about $2000 more then a friend who did it at a place.
