Wedding Woes

Paging Dr. WW

Not last Friday, but the Friday before, I jacked up my foot pretty badly. The injury occured while I was sleep walking, so I don't know exactly what happened. All I know is, I went to sleep in our bed with two perfectly fine feet, and woke up in the guest bedroom, and lefty was janked up.

It feels as if I jammed every single toe and then slammed my foot in the door. My toes are visibly swollen, my foot feels bruised, but there is no discoloration or marks.

It hurts much less than it did before, but it still hurts and is still swollen.

I'm guessing nothing is broken if I can walk on it?

Do I give it more time, or go get it x-rayed?

Or, go straight towards amputation seeing as the SugarBeetus is going to get it soon anyways?

It might not hurt to get an x-ray. I was able to walk on my broken foot. They won't be able to do anything for the toes but you'd know what was going on.

Or you can tape your toes and see if that helps.

have you been treating the swelling (cold packs, elevation, etc?)

FIL broke his leg and still managed to walk the dog for almost a mile in snow and ice last year. (He fell at the bottom of the driveway and then still took her on her normal walk.) Just because you can bear weight, doesn't mean it's not broken.

I'd be a little worried that it's been swollen for more than a week.

are you just looking for a reason to visit Dr. HS?

I'm with Jake - I want cheese now.

I hate to say it, but if the pain hasn't subsided you should see someone about it.

Jake is right, cheese is awesome.

Barbie - I have been icing it, and the swelling doesn't go down.

Mrs. TT - more than just my toes hurt. It is also the ball of my feet and the sides of my feet. I'm concerned about those bones, too.

I am WAY late to this discussion, but have you ever had gout?   It sounds similar to my symptoms when I had it.
Or something is broken or fractured.
Either way, I think another visit to a dr. is in order.  :(
