Wedding day Timeline

Have any of you started working on your wedding day timeline yet? I started on everything from noon when i will get dressed on. I dont know if its to early and I know things may change as I get closer but its so stressful looking at it and seeing how busy everthing will be.

  • I haev started it a little bit, but havent gotten far. I can't figure out where we want to get ready so its a bit frustrating.

  • I had to think about it because my caterer requested the approx. time dinner will be served.  I had to choose a time (6:15) and work backwards to determine my ceremony should be at 3:30.  The sites are 30 minutes apart with a 15-20 minute ceremony, receiving line & pics.

My mom made a little rough draft one, but we are still waiting to hear from the church on how late we can start our ceremony so times might change, but here is thr rough draft:

    3:00 - Ceremony Start
    3:30 - Ceremony end/ receiving line start
4:30 - Limo pick us up
5:00 - Cocktail hour start at reception hall
    6:00 - Bridal party arrives
    6:10 - Cake cutting
    6:20 - Prayer
    6:25 - dinner served
7:00 - Toasts (champagne pour right before that)
    7:15 - Desserts
    7:30 - Dance
    10:00 - Late night snack
  • I have part of mine mapped out, we are thinking a 4PM wedding, the reception is a 5 minute walk (2 minute drive) from the church so a 5:00 reception with toasts during dinner, 6PM -11PM will be our dance, and we will set out snack trays between 9:30 and 10!! :)

I've been working on my timeline for months because we have to be at the venue the morning of the wedding to set up decorations, etc. Going to be a long day!
8 - 10 - Decorations at venue, go for a jog (the venue has tons of trails through the woods!)
    10 - 12 - Shower, get brunch
12 - 2 - Relax, start makeup and hair (my future sister-in-law is doing all the girls' hair so it'll take a while!)
2 - photographer arrives, finish hair, makeup and get dressed
3 - 4:30 - 'First Look' photos at the venue, and maybe some family photos as well
5 - Guests start arriving, the bar is open
    5:30 - Ceremony!!!! :)
    6 - 6:45 - Cocktail 'Hour'
    6:45 - 7:30 - Dinner, Toasts
    7:30 - First Dances!
    7:45 - Party, Party, Party!
    9:30 - Late Night snacks
Then party party party til 11 pm!

When should we do the cutting? We're doing pie instead of cake. Does that come after dinner, or after the first dances?  Hmm...
