Bridal Bouquet...

Hey knotties...i need some help so i came to the experts.

This is the bouquet i wanted my florist to recreate:

Today i found this silk bridal bouquet.

It will cost more than the real orchid bouquet but i will have it for always.  As i live in Canada i cannot bring my bouquet home with me even if i get it preserved.  My colours have changed again so they are now turquoise blue, fuchsia, ivory and chocolate brown...although the cb will probably be an accent like the lettering on our stds and invites.

For the real orchid bouquet i was thinking of adding fuchsia feathers and changing the look of the stem but keep the flowers all white. For the silk flowers i would add a few fuchsia flowers.

Should i go with the real or silk bouquet?  TIA. Julie Smile

I voted real as you can buy fake flowers anytime, it can be hard and very spendy to try to get orchids at home.  You're marrying in the tropics - take advantage!!  :)

I'm all about the natural look over the silk... but on top of that, I know a lot of people who have preserved their flowers, and then left them in a box in the closet to be forgotten. Even if you leave the silk ones out, they'll probably collect dust and fade in a corner somewhere, you know?

I think there's something really lovely about the fleeting nature of real flowers, and that you can't bring them back with you.

I'm doing real flowers too.  I just feel that it's more radiant and if you're getting married in Hawaii, the flowers are just amazing.  I used to keep flowers from my old boyfriends and such, but the truth is that the dust collected from it isn't all that it's cracked up to be.  I'm going to try to preserve a few flowers for pressing to make into a bookmark or something that will be useful.
