G'morning, friends!!!

Re: G'morning, friends!!!

  • Morning! Now I want funnel cake. And IHOP. Why doesn't IHOP make funnel cakes??

I had the same traffic cfaz did on the way in this morning. If you're in DC and it is raining, please remember to add 25 minutes to your commute. I can't wait until snow season starts. ::headdesk::

    Happy birthday Grandma AK!
  • Good morning.  Working today - half doing my "old" job, and half training for my new position that I start for real in 2 weeks.  It's only my Thursday.  I put in my notice at my part time job, planning to work the next two weeks until I switch to 2nd shift at my full time job and can't moonlight at the restaurant anymore... the biitch of a manager who schedules the servers reduced my hours to one night a week (instead of 3) and put me in the smallest section in the restaurant when the schedule came out for next week.

[QUOTE]GOOD MORNING!  Today IS Fabulous because I'm off today!  WOOT.  I'll just be taking Jocelyn to school and then cleaning the house.  <strong>My plans this weekend are to COMPLETELY gut the entire house of anything I haven't touched since we moved in 2 years ago.  It's gotta go.  I'm extremely too excited about this and I have no idea why!  :)

I totally love doing this too. We have a similar overhaul in our (very near) future... there are still stacks of stuff that was replaced by wedding gifts hiding in corners. And our clothes-we-have-but-don't-wear situation has gotten out of control. The Salvation Army is going to be sending us flowers by the time I'm done with this. :)

<div>That's an excellent point. My private sector company will demand that I come in even if there are foots and foots of snow... but at least the roadways will be clear of government workers!</div>

    I CAN'T WAIT FOR SNOW THOUGH :)

  • Ahhh snow. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm ready for it. Michigan drivers only need a few weeks to remember how to drive in it, and we're supposed to get a ton this year. Love it! It might snow tomorrow actually.
  • It's supposed to snow some this weekend, but nothing serious.  I'm not ready for it.

  • Yes, I might be cursing myself for wanting snow after what happened last winter.

At least shoveling is a good workout?

  • I hate all of you wishing for snow.  Please let it stay away as long as possible.

I love snow! But probably because I don't have to shovel it or drive in it.

<div>At least we finally bought a snow shovel! We dug our way out last year with a garden shovel.  :-/</div>
  • Shoveling is a great workout! When I couldn't get out and go to the gym, it's all I had. I felt totally ripped in the arms and back after that third blizzard. :)

I really only love snow BEFORE Christmas though. I love the holidays so much and it helps get me in the spirit. After Christmas I'm ready for it to get warm out again, so snow starts to annoy me.

Haha last year H tried to use a broom. Then we went out and got a shovel.
  • Yeah, we don't have a snow shovel. We went looking for one the other day, but Home Depot didn't have any. It doesn't snow here much (at least not what I'm used to) but I guess by last year's standards it snowed a whole lot. People here lose their minds when it snows. We have a gravel drive. I'm so not looking forward to having to shovel that.

  • ak- because it doesn't often snow in DC, everywhere was sold out of shovels almost immediately. If you didn't get one, you weren't going to get one.

manda- You guys got it BAD last year if I remember right. The weather patterns were all screwy, and we had a mild winter while you guys got slammed. The local weather guys here are saying this year we'll pay for that. Hehe.

True story: DH and I had to buy a shovel in Richmond and bring it to BIL and SIL in DC because they couldn't find a single shovel anywhere. Not even the cheap plastic ones.

  • Morning, everyone. Weekend is pretty packed for me - riding lessons tomorrow right after school, work 10-12 Saturday morning, get the girls to acolyte training by 2 Saturday afternoon, church Sunday morning, grade the 90 quizzes I'm giving today...at some point I'd like to see my husband, too.

I called my sister before I left for work this morning. My parents flew over to surprise her and babysit for her 40th birthday tomorrow. My BIL is taking her to Venice for the weekend. With all the people in on the secret, my sister had no inkling of what was going on. She is so excited, and her daughters are over the moon at a surprise visit from their grandparents. Wish I could be there, too.
  • aw, sara! what a sweet birthday surprise!
  • I wish it would snow here.

This weekend I'll be organizing a little more.  We still have some boxes to unpack from moving a few weeks ago, but like amrs, we don't have a pantry or china cabinet or extra bookcases.

And I saw a commercial for new episodes of Burn Notice.  I said, "yeah, in November... oh wait", so I'm excited for the new season to start tonight.

We're going to finalize our wedding bands this weekend, so yay!

  • Mornin'. We don't get snow, so...

I'll talk about my weekend tomorrow. It's only Thursday, and I don't want to spend all day wishing it was Friday (more than I already will).
