Here is what I have so far... What is your music for..... (Ceremony) Prelude- random instrumental music... hopefully (if the church will let us) Lady Antebellum "We've Got a Good Thing" and possibly Train "Marry Me" (If we can't use it for the processional Processional- See above... hopefully "Marry Me" in some way... either acoustic or instrumental... so pretty. Otherwise some horrid classical crap-ola... yet TBD Recessional- ??? Any other special songs (Reception Music) Entrance- "I've Got a Feeling" BEP... cliche, but I sooo love this song... makes me get all pumped up and ready to rock! First Dance- Kenny Chesney "Me and You" Father/Daughter- Chuck Wicks "Stealing Cinderella" Mother/Son- ??? Married Couples- Clint Black "When I Said I Do" Cake Cutting- James Taylor "How Sweet It Is" Bouquet- ??? (We are actually doing the garter and bouquet toss at the same time... not sure what music yet... something fun) Garter- "Hot in Here" Nelly for garter placement Any other special songs- Kevin and I will be doing a last dance (after the announced last dance for everyone)... just the two of us. We aren't 100% sure what song... thinking Big and Rich "Lost In This Moment" But we thought it would be a sweet idea to savor the very last dance

Bridgett-  I love the song "Love Like Crazy"
I initially wanted to name my tables after that song (ex- Table #1- Be a Best Friend, table #2- Tell The Truth... etc etc) but I wasn't sure if people would "get it" ya know?
I LOVE the words... I am so glad you are using it.  I think it's a perfect recipe for a happy life and marriage.
I might have to somehow include that song (sorry to steal from you...)

Not to butt in but...I went to to a wedding this fall where they played Beyonce's "Single Ladies" during the bouquet toss...it sounds a little cliche but it really was perfect for that part of the reception!

I would so love to use that, but we are doing both bouquet and garter at the same time and I don't know how the guys would feel about getting crazy to "Single Ladies"  lol
If anyone has any suggestions for a song for both... man I am all ears.  I am totally stuck!

    Hi Girls,
We haven't made a lot of our decisions yet for music...but I have ideas.  I know I might be in the minority using classical music for processional and recessional, but I grew up listening to it and have a background in playing violin, so anyway, that's why I have it there! Smile

    (Ceremony)
Prelude (various, still have to go over with musicians
Processional Pachelbel Canon in D for BMs
    Recessional Handel's Water Music
    Any other special songs

    (Reception Music)
Entrance not sure I like the BEP I gotta feeling though
First Dance-Never Tear us apart INXS (FI favorite band)
Father/Daughter-not sure, might be 'Because You loved me'
    Mother/Son-not sure
    Married Couples-not sure
    Cake Cutting-not sure
Bouquet-I like single ladies by Beyonce
Garter-all I can think of is 'let's here it for the boys', but not sure really

    That's it!

Ok Monica, or any other country fans...'Put A Girl In It'- Brooks & Dunn...I love it, kinda want it somewhere, but where??

    Intro maybe?
Possible garter toss (but then you hear just a short clipping)

    Thoughts?

I'm also doing a ceremony with all classical.  Nothing is set in stone b/c I haven't actually booked musicians yet.  But I'm thinking something like:

    Processional: Pachelbel's Canon in D
Special Music with Soloist: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
    Recessional: Ode to Joy

Depends a bit on what can be done with a violin and a cello only.

Reception stuff is still up in the air too.  I'm thinking a fun song for entrances (maybe something that's popular when Sep rolls around), something sweet for cake cutting, a classic for the Anniversary Dance (What a Wonderful World?).  Ahh, I know nothing!!

I googled 'Jones Tones DJ' and under their wedding section they have a mess of songs for suggestions, maybe that'll help!  Whirlin Disc DJ also has mini playlists to listen to by genre, might help also!

Monica, We're still up in the air on the dollar dance. 1 FSIL did it and 1 didn't, so Im not sure yet. But maybe!

Oh music this was my favorite part! We did...

Ceremony... I copied my SIL's wedding on this one since we had the same 3 string playing from Syracuse Symphony as she did I'm pretty sure we had pachabel's canon in D (it was all classical) can't even remember lol

    Reception:
We didn't really want to waste time with garter, bouquet toss or anything like that so we only had...
Walking in... Bohemian Rhapsody by queen (a fav of ours)
First Dance... Make you feel my love by Adelle
Father/Daughter... Some celine dion song my mom picked lol. Dad and I boogied to it anyway we got moves :)
Mother/Son... i'll stand by you by the pretenders
We played mostly fast dance type songs throughout and just made it a big dance club for the young peeps :)
Cake Cutting... Brown Sugar by Rolling Stones

    Ok, my 2 cents.
I am going to have a string quartet during the ceremony. I think I will let them choose what they want to play. I am planning to make Jay come up with the reception music since he is friends with our DJ. How am I doing delegating so far?
No Father-Daughter and Mother -Son dances because both of Jay parents are deceased and it's my second marriage.
First dance: More than I Deserve by Christian Kane. Laughing
That's all we have so far...
