Good Morning!

Re: Good Morning!

  • Morning.

I'm super frustrated about work this morning.

I shouldn't have to ask for something 5011million times and wait two weeks for an answer.  I have a deadline, people.  I'm trying to help you, not catch you.  Stop running to your higher ups every time I ask a damn question.
  • Morning ladies!

Ibarr-hope all goes well with the test.
Brandi- Happy Wedding Weekend! Dont worry about FSIL, she's not worth it.

TGIF! I have only worked 2 1/2 days this weeks since I've been sick. But being sick is work. Tomorrow Atticus has an interview at Camp Bow Wow, so we have the whole day to ourselves, not sure what we should do with it!

  • chels- where are the interviews? Is your H from the same hometown as you??

and, well. That sucks about your PR stuff, but maybe it will be better in the long run for all the crap to come out in the open?

KD!  I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!  I hope you feel better!

And might I ask what an interview at camp Bow Wow entails?  Is it like Doggy Daycare?

Hi darlin! I havent been here in forever, I feel like I've been in a coma.

Yes, doggy daycare it is, we are going to SC in August to babysit the grandbaby and he will have to do overnights. We have a petsitter, but we want him to be able to get out and play and they dont charge as much as she would.

So they want to observe his play behavior and figure out which size dogs he needs to be with.

  • I love Camp Bow Wow! That's the only place we bring the pups now.  We used to use a few different local places that were really nice.  But with two large dogs, we just can't afford $50+ day/dog.  Camp Bow Wow is perfect- they play all day, but have their own space at night (and it's way big enough for our two to share a kennel.)  It's $65/night total. for both of them. So we can drop them off first thing Saturday morning and pick them up last thing Sunday afternoon, and only pay the night. (Instead of other places that charge per day and make you pay extra for play time, etc.)

Ok, that got really long. ha

Mine is in Point at the two middle schools (.4 at each one), his is technically in Amherst, but they're pretty much right next door to eachother :)
Yes we're both from the same town too.

I agree, if people donate to our organization, they deserve to know where their money is going. It's just frustrating that the money is going towards something on an even higher level now that the donors already didn't like when it was on a smaller level, so I don't get why we now did it on a higher level. Oh well. I don't make the decisions.
  • Dang Steph!  That's a good price.  We spent over a $1000 to board our dogs while we were on a cruise for one week.  One big dog, One medium dog, and a 9 pounder...  I just googled it but we don't have one of those here so boo.

  • JCB I am sooo jealous of you. Live lobsters are the best.

H and I are about to head to MI (shocker, I know), we're going out on his parent's boat this evening. We were supposed to go to the big hydroplane boat races tomorrow but only H gets to do that now while I get stuck going to a wedding shower. I get seafood though so I'm excited about that. I'm skipping a shower on Sunday because I won't know anyone there and I'm just not spending an entire weekend at showers.

Here's a vent. One of the perks of having your wedding first in a year with tons of weddings is that you set the standard. No one but family and 4 of my close girlfriends were invited to my showers. That should have been a clue to you that I do not want to go to your shower. I am getting these invites for people I don't even know or have met like twice and I am sick of it. I feel obligated to send gifts and frankly I don't have the money and don't really want to.

  • Our kennel is $12/day per cat, with 7 cats who get boarded it's $84 a day.

So, we usually board just the special needs kitty and have a pet sitter for the other 6.

    Well that sucks.

It's $37 for overnights for one dog. If you have a family of pets they can stay together. Atticus is almost 40lbs now, but he plays well with small dogs as well as big ones. So, we'll see where he ends up.

Well people do know that invitations aren't tit for tat, but I agree, it's kind of weird if you barely know them.  Don't feel obligated to bring a gift though.
  • Thank you again to everyone for the well wishes. We got everything we needed and are eating some breakfast before the madness starts! I'll be a giant AW in a few days!! Have a great weekend everyone.

  • Doggie daycares are so much fun! I worked at a huge daycare, training, and boarding facility when I was in school. Let me tell you, if money wasn't an issue I would still be playing with pups all day. Oh, and the dogs love it too, lol.
  • Holy hannah, shay, that's an expensive dog vacation.

And acaponi, showers are effing ridiculous sometimes. If you're not going to shower, I don't think you need to send a gift. Obviously if you are going to the wedding you can bring one then.

  • Our petsitter is 16 per 1/2hour visit. We pay her to come in twice a day when H has to go into the office or is OOT. So, it gets really expensive.

We'll still have to pay her for the cat, I refuse to board him.

  • Sometimes you ladies make me re-think my desire to have a pet.  I didn't realize how expensive some of the stuff is. I didn't have any pets growing up so it'd all be pretty new to me haha.

  • Morning! Today hasn't started out great, couldn't fall asleep till 1, C was up at 530, and is a grumpy baby today :/ I'm off to Costco today to get all the food for her party tomorrow. I can't believe how expensive dog boarding has gotten, I remember boarding our dogs when I was in high school for like 8/night! Usually my parents watch our dogs for us. Or we have an awesome lady who charges 20/night watch Jackson. He's got behavior issues, so it's hard finding a place that'll take him.

  • It's all based on where yo ulive too. My mom boards her dog for $20 for the weekend. And it's at a retired vet tech's house out in the country. So they have this HUGE open area and her kids love playing with the dogs the whole time. The dog basically jumps out the window as soon as you turn onto their driveway, he gets so excited.
  • But thsi did remind me to call and make a reservation for the dogs in August :)
  • Yes, over a grand for one week.  Luckily my brother can now drive and he's more than happy to stay at our house when we need to go out of town.  We board them at our vet which has nice space for them to get plenty of outdoor time like they are used to, plus they are familiar with the people there.  But I think we might be switching vets because the last time we took the two bigger ones, it was over $400 just for a routine appointment.  Ridiculous.

  • If we had the money I'd be opening a doggy daycare/boarding faculty. Maybe one day! I told H we have the room/space at our house to put in some kennels and do boarding here, but he wasn't thrilled with the idea.

  • We're really lucky that we have friends and family who will watch Moose for free and neighbors who will check in on the cat. The people who watch Moose have dogs too so it's a reciprocal arrangement. He just sleeps on the couch all day anyway so he isn't much trouble.

I am pretty sure he is staying at FBIL's while we're on our honeymoon. They have so many kids and dogs running around their house one more doesn't really matter.

  • Anna- toffee flavored coffee sounds amazing. I miss straight coffee so much. I had to give it up because of my acid reflux.

This has been a massively shitty week. My car has had issue after issue since my accident in March- some accident related, some mechanic incompetence related and some "my car is 8 years old with 100k miles on it" related. I think we need to pony up the dough and get a new one which really really screws us over right now. We've been saving for months for a vacation and we have an out of town wedding we've been saving for. With a new car in the mix.... ugh.

I am being a spoiled brat. I want my car to just work right again so we can avoid it. wahhhhhh :-P

  • Star - We got to that point and MIL was trading so we bought her used Oldsmobile for me. I tell myself it's dependable, but that's all it's got going for it.

I'll be thrilled when we can afford a car payment for me, the Olds sucks.

ach- I would take a deal like that if we could! No one is trading in :( At this point.. we know the next car we buy will be one we hold on to for awhile so we want to try and get something with enough safety features and storage that it would be a good "family" car. lordy.

Good luck! I downgraded from a Mustang to the Olds and the power is unimpressive.

It might hit 45mph at the bottom of an on ramp if I floor it. But, it's comfy and safe.

Guess my plans now include working on some artsy projects I've been meaning to do.  Which will inevitably mean cleaning because I get dry pastels everywhere when I use them

Oh wtf, I'm now just automatically signed in even though I was getting errors before. We've only boarded vin once, and it was at his vets office when we got married and I remember it being super cheap. We have my mom to watch him now.

See when I lived in my house my mom lived next door, so she took care of my animals and I took care of hers. And as my son got older he loved watching the animals.

Now, we know no one where we live well enough to ask them to watch our babies. And with Atticus being a pup, he needs so much more time and attention then Cleo needed.
