First Shower

is TOMORROW! I can't believe it. We're only 128 days or so from being married, and we have a shower every month til June. Good grief.

What's everybody else got going on this weekend? (Sorry if I missed the weekend plans post...I didn't see one when I was skimming!)

That's exciting!

FI's aunt offered to throw us a shower, and he turned it down. WTF is wrong with my FI????

He was like "Well, I just don't see why we'd have a shower, because I don't want to do it just to get gifts."

Umm... hello? That's the POINT of a shower. How do you refuse that?

Have a blast at yours! I'm sure it will be awesome. I don't have many plans this weekend except send my invitations, which I am working on now.

Ohh that should be fun!!

Tonight I'm doing my final "Friday Night Ritual" with my closest friend here. For the past 6 or so months we've gone to this bar/grill place right on the river every single Friday night (that I've been in town and not visiting FI) so this is going to be our last one since next weekend FI will be here moving my things and then the Friday after I will be making my final drive down to La. So, it's going to be a bittersweet night, for sure. As far as the rest of the weekend, I'm going to be going through all my things and trying to get rid of much as possible so I don't have to drag it down there with me.

That's awesome and exciting - i doubt we will even have a shower at all - only "close" family is FI's dad and his girlfriend and i honestly don't expect them to throw us one but that's totally fine with me - so you are making up for some of us lol.

Weekend plans :

Off work tomorrow - a miracle in retail and plan to enjoy it with FI. We have some errands to run but other than that compiling a list of questions i want to have for the venues and my photogrpaher on Tuesday. Also my MOH is back in the hospital..again..so maybe visiting her..poor girl. Might stop by some craft places and get ideas for invites and STD's and such.

Sunday i work but then am off for 3 days so should go by fast. First wedding related appointments are this week..i'm freaking out in a good way lol !

We had a wonderful time! Our friends who hosted it were fabulous, the food was great, the cake was beautiful (and tasted good too!) and I think everyone had a lot of fun. Of course, we were coming from 4 hours away, and inevitably hit a bunch of traffic that added over 1.5 hours to our trip, so we were an hour late to our own shower, but everyone was really understanding about it.

We have a few other things that are bought off our registries that we haven't gotten yet, so maybe they're coming in the mail from people who couldn't attend. Also, our hosts made up this nice basket of towels and bathroom hardware (we desperately need to re-do our guest bath, and they know it, hahaha) that wasn't on our registry, so we're going to try to make them work and if for some reason we can't, we'll exchange them. Should be fine though. All in all, very happy! Now...to find somewhere to store it all 'til after the wedding when we can unpack it and use it.
