Any Newton White Mansion Brides?

Hello fellow knotties,

I am in the process of looking at venues, and was wondering if there are any brides who have done their weddings or planning to at the Newton White Mansion.. If so please share your experience. either here or by email at sap1504 AT gmail DOT com.

TIA

Ha...I just posted the same thing cause I didn't see yours here...I actually am having my wedding there but wanted to know how other brides thought their experience was...I have a wedding consultant that has directed many weddings there, which I am grateful for...let  me know if you have any questions :)

Yes, yes ... I have questions.   I just responded to the other NWM bride.  Some of my questions: (1) Is NWM too big for a reception (seated luncheon) for 50?  (2) Is there a person on staff there to help with event coordination? (3) Do they have a policy of holding only one event/day? (4) How far in advance will they book an event? (5) Is there a place online to see photos of past weddings help there?

Okay -- that's all for now.  Thanks! Smile

I have a contract with NWM for my wedding so I may be able to answer your questions.
    1) NWM seats 200 in the atrium, but I'm sure you can set up the atrium to suit the number of guests you intend to have.
    2) Their staff will not help with the event coordination...I suggest hiring a wedding planner or perhaps a family member that has directed weddings before...The staff to my knowledge will not let you in any earlier than your contracted time, so if there is a wedding scheduled before yours, they will make sure that they are out before yours starts so there's no conflict.
    3) If you live in PG or Montgomery CO then you get a discount off your venue fee.  If you book a ceremony there you will have to pay an hourly fee to have your rehearsal there.
    4) I booked my wedding which isn't until 6/11/11 in October of 09...some other bride called the venue two weeks ago and wanted to book her wedding the same time and they told her I already had it reserved so, people book well in advance there.
    5) Google NWM and you will see pics of the mansion aand all the rooms...you can also go on facebook, they have a fan page which shows the atrium very well...I also googled NWM to see other weddings there.

    Hope this helps.

    HELLO Fellow NWM Brides.

    Great Information.

Yes, one must book at least a year in advance for NWM. My wedding is September this year and I booked it May of '09... I luckily found that opening after someone dropped it.

Yes, thank you.  All of this helps.  Also, I'm glad to hear they book early.  I'd really like to settle on my venue within the next couple of months (wedding date is July 3, 2011) so it looks like I'd better give them a call soon to rule it in/out.

    Good luck!

I've tried to look at the sole review of NWM on dcknottiereview, but when I go to that bride's bio, I cannot find a review of the venue.  What's the trick to getting to the actual review?   Thanks, in advance, for your help! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

Has anyone or is anyone having their wedding in NWM outside during the evening timeslot?  Specifically around September/October. If so, are you taking precautions to provide outdoor lighting in case your wedding runs past sunset?

Great question. I'm getting married in the evening this September.

Me too!  07/07/12!  Does anyone have ideas on how to decorate the atrium?  They say "no tape or adhesives, no tacks, no staples..."  well with a ceiling that high I'm not sure how to do any decor except with table linens and centerpieces.  Help!
