Photographer help!

Hi All,

I know of the photographer that is somewhat new at it (3 years) and asked him to quote me a price.  He's only done a handfull of weddings.  He quoted me $1300 for 6 hours of shooting with digital touch-ups on 30 photos and no wedding book or printed photos.  I thought this was a bit high but have nothing like that to compare to.  What do you guys think??  Any good referrals you have, of course that is realitively inexpensive??

Thanks much!!

It's about average, but I'd be worried about the "digital touchups" on 30 photos.  What does that mean?  He won't edit the rest at all?

Will you get the rights to your photos to print them?  If so, I wouldn't worry about not getting prints.

It sounds like your on the fence - I'd just go with someone else.
Leah Maria Photography is about in that range - http://leahmariaphotography.showitsite.com/

There are many other photographers in that range - GL!

I've seen several photographers in the $1500 range that include a cd all your photos (or all of them that aren't bad shots), copyrights, all-day coverage, and touch-ups on whichever photos you want.

We used Ben Berndt Photography and Dana Schoppe Photography, both are in this price range.  Also, Ben's second shooter was Evan Uribe of Lumen Photography and he did a great job, too.  Info for all in my bio under vendors.

We are going with Joe Kelley Photography.  His pictures were great & his pricing fit our budget perfectly.  I would definitely check out his website & contact him for his pricing.

I would say the price is good, but you should try to negotiate the digital retouched photos 30 pictures won't get you very far, and I would say you should ask for the rights to print in writing.   Otherwise...price sounds good. Have you seen samples of his previous work?? That is always a must before booking.
