Doing your own uplighting?

Have any of you thought about this? I'm considering it but kinda lost on the whole idea. Any local vendors you all are using?

    We are doing lighting, however that is because we are getting married at the New Hazlett theater so the theater allows us to use all of their lighting and sound equipment.  Not sure where to look for a separate lighting vendor, perhaps try calling area theaters or the opera house and see if there is someone they can recommend.

    Most DJ's offer uplighting for an extra fee.

    Friends of ours just used pittsburghweddingrentals.com at the Mayernik.  The lighting was beautiful  I think she paid a package price with chair covers, lighting and a photobooth.  She also did the monogram lighting.

    We used Modern Era Weddings (Bill Bara's company). We paid $500 for 20 lights. This was the best price I could find per light in the area. Easy to work with, they set up the lights and took them down the next day.

    Also check out ADS lighting. I just left them a voicemail, so I don't know what they charge yet. But they seem to have a lot of options.
