Yeah, I don't think H cares about my volunteer mod position.  :P
• In Response to Re:It's evening.:
FI thinks it's weird that I talk to quot;strangers on the internetquot; but whatever. He'll learn to live with it. Posted by angelstar975
DH did the same until I pointed out that he spends hours on his ultralight backpacking forum and then goes hiking with people from the forum, like a mountain man GTG. That made him pipe down!
• My FI just shakes his head at me, especially if I refer to someone on TK as "one of my friends" or "this girl I know." He always says, "You mean someone from THE KNOT?" and gives me a look.

I guess guys don't understand that friends can be made on the internet just like in person. Except for Poli's mountain man H :)

• FI does enjoy that I am less likely to say anything about him watching sports or playing video games if I am chatting on here. It is a win-win.

I'm crossing my fingers that I can convince H to meet KYKate this weekend.

FI thinks we talk about color palettes and buffet vs. plated food all the time. If he only knew...
• FI barely has any time for me these days with finals anyway, so it works out. As of Tuesday, he's done law school forever... we're both very excited. Then I think he gets to relax for 2 weeks and then his bar exam prep course starts. The number of books he has for this course is alarming, I don't envy him at all.

That's what H thought too, which is why he was confused when I kept on knotting after the wedding.
• I wish I had taken a picture of FI's face when we went to find Nicki's grandma at Disney. He kept trying to figure out who's grandma I wanted to see. Once he realized it was from TK, he gave me a look and then kept shaking his head and chuckling at me the rest of the day.

When I first joined, I thought it was a little odd that there were so many married ladies (and men) on the site, but then I realized... oh yeah... it would be like the blind leading the blind if the married people didn't stick around to help.<div>
</div><div>Then I kept reading the forums and it clicked that a lot of people had formed friends via their month boards and such. It was not one of my smarter days. ;)</div>

<div>Your exasperation with your FIs law school has made me nervous. My FI is now thinking about going to law school since he hasn't found a job yet with just a bachelors. I'm supporting him but all I could think about was how yall talk about how awful it it. </div>
• Angel - do you guys have anything planned to celebrate the end of law school?

Hey, at least he's not obsessed with strippers or expensive cars or something...
• I have only read the first page, but J, I love you for loving puzzles. You should get a map puzzle so you can have two awesome things at once. We are waiting for a table at Dewey's. I love pizza.

It helps if you're both fairly independent people. My grad school and residency were hard, especially since we lived in different cities, but FI had a lot of hobbies and friends, so he was able to keep busy while I was saying, "Sorry, babe. I'm sleeping with my books this weekend. How about next weekend?"

I started dating him midway through his 2nd year, so I've been with him for half of law school. It's definitely been tough, but it's way worse during finals... it's not that bad the rest of the semester. You guys live together, so I imagine it would be easier on you... we don't, so if he's studying, I don't get to see him at all. From what I understand, the first year is the most time consuming because you don't know how to read the cases yet, but once you get the hang of it, you know which parts to read and which parts you can kind of skip so it doesn't take quite as long. I'm the kind of girl who likes attention a lot of the time though, so that's part of why it's so difficult for me right now.

Poke - Nope, no plans yet... maybe I'll take him to dinner or something to celebrate.
I wish I could go to the Derby. It would be fun.       But it's all good, I'm going to Jazz Fest to see Zac Brown and <strong>hopfully get to see Tracym on Saturday</strong>. I wonder if NOLA every goes to Jazz Fest.  I haven't seen her around lately to ask.
Posted by lyndausvi
Yup! We'll make it happen!  I was wondering about NOLA the other day too.

And hi everyone!  We're still trying to figure out what's for dinner.  I gave myself the worst headache from stressing out on the drive home from work. Awful thunderstorms and flooding. The water seemed so high I thought my car was going to stall.  I don't how I'll ever get used to this.

• H and I met online, so he can't tease me about that. He met a previous GF online, too. Oh, and he's a Reddit junkie. He said he likes meeting people from TK, because there is always food involved. He and Midge's FI got along swimmingly.

Are you in CA or FL? "Orange County" isn't very specific. I imagine FL since you're talking about storms.
• Who's done with classes for the semester?

THIS GIRL.

I'm celebrating with a lovely dinner and nice wine (at least for me.  It's over my normal $10 limit).
