Thanks for the tips! Someone told FI it was too hot there in May, and I thought that was crazy talk. I think pushing it out a few weeks after the wedding might be a really good idea. I'm thinking we'll be exhausted and not really up for that long of a drive the day after.

HONEYMOON! We're doing a two parter. We're going to do a west coast road trip...first part will be right after our wedding hopefully, and we'll fly into Seattle and drive down to San Francisco, and do fun things along the way. Then we'll probably go back for our first anniversary and do SF to San Diego. I want to go now.
(Not that this is the slightest bit helpful to you, Meg, but I'm excited :-p)

We are not! I don't have any knotties on my fb. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif" border="0" alt="Cry" title="Cry" />
We stayed at an AI in Cozumel. We had an AMAZING time and I think the price was very reasonable considering the quality of the rooms, drinks, food, etc. Check out my FB pics if interested!

Well, that's not cool at all. You should find me. I think you can find me by email (my sn at hotmail).
Wen went to Moorea and Bora Bora for our honeymoon - it took 24 hours to get there - but it was worth everthing. Trip of a lifetime. It was the most beautiful, relaxed place I have ever been. It's got a very Robinson Crusoe feel to it because it is so much less developed that most other tropical destinations.
Sounds like you are not looking to go so far though on a plane. We went to Anguilla a couple years and it become one of my favorite islands. The sand is so white and the water so neon blue/green it actually is blinding. It is a very relaxed and quiet island and is foodie heaven. We stayed at Ku, which is a condo/style resort and was perfect for us. Went to the local market, picked up breakfast and lunch stuff and wine / rum/punch and saved a bundle that way. Splurged on dinner. The really top notch hotels are Cap Jaluca, cuisnart, Viceroy, and Moulihana. We took a direct flight to St. Martin - you then just hop on a boat and Anguilla is only about a 15 minute boat ride away. Very easy and only takes about 3 to 4 hours from northeast. You can get great deals if you travel during the off season. We went in mid-April and paid half the normal rate.
We are going to Sandals in St Lucia. Couples only, no kids, all inclusive.
This is the suite we are staying in. Its off on the bluffs aways from the main parts of the resorts. The bonus with sandals is that there are 3 resorts and you can jump in a van and go to any of them.
One of my best friends is going to Jade Mountain in St. Lucia in a couple weeks for her belated HM!! They are spending a week there, then going to St. Barths for 5 days. They decided to do it big since they make good money and have no kids yet.
I also recommend Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos...secluded, beautiful, amazing food and spa. Expensive though.
I am really not a fan of AI because I usually find the food mediocre and you don't really get to appreciate the culture of the place you are visiting, but they are probably the best option if you are on a budget and don't want to do anything but relax and lay on the beach. I have been to a couple in Jamaica, Sandals and the Jamaica Grand. Did not like Sandals at all. The other was nice.
One of my favorite places is Playa del Carmen in Mexico. It feels very European there. The best looking resort town I have ever been to in Mexico. It is more boutique hotel than big resort though.

St lucia doesn't have white sand beaches like you envision...more dark and narrow. It is known more for mountains/waterfalls and cliffs. Antigua--nice beaches. I don't want Jamaica or Mexico and have been stuck on St. Lucia till I went on Trip advisor and looked at pictures taken from real people at the resorts.

We shall see. From the pics I have seen of people who went to the Sandals we are going to, it looked pretty white to me.
I have also been to Antigua. I got my walled stolen and my friend almost got robbed when we went into town to do some shopping. It was really dirty too.
I have had friends go to Jamaica as well. They both had completely different experiences.
