  Is the $150K per person, or household?  Because yeah, I would find individually making $150K to be fairly 'rich' (especially combined with two equal earners making a combined salary of $300K, but that's still not what I would call 'wealthy').  However, making $150K as a household, while still a very comfortable situation where I live, would only really be considered upper middle class, not rich and definitely not wealthy.

  I will say in my area 150k would be considered rich. But I live in the nicer apartments in my town 2 bed 1 bath and pay 450 in rent. So col is not high but neither are the paychecks.

  I don't think rich has everything to do with how much you make. I think it's more how you budget it, your investments and your net worth.
