venues

am looking for a nice venue around the cincinnati area. I am on a small budget ( my family is giving us $5000 ) thats all the money we have so far ( beyond our small contribution) I enjoy an rural area somewhere nwith a nice feel to it. I have contacted lake lyndsay and will be visiting them but they have the type of feel i am going for. the savannah center is over budget for what i would like to spend. Anyone have any other ideas? I will have roughly 150-175 people ( i could cut it down more if needed but would not like to  cut people out) O it is also for a November wedding. I would like to be able to still get pictures taken outside....any help would be great

Re: venues

  • Our venue is the fop event center (fop lodge) in Joyce park in Fairfield. Rental is $700 an includes alot then you pick the food per person price. Definitely worth looking into!
  • I am looking at that hopefully next weekend!

Allison Back is who I worked with, very very nice. let me know if I can help in any way!
  • Laky Lyndsay is great but very pricey! $4000 for the main lodge and they offer no discounts. they also have some pretty strict rules. Its not a rural area, but i am having mine at the courtyard by marriott in hamilton and they are great for working with a budget!
  • Lake Lyndsay is BEAUTIFUL - but a huge money suck. It's SOOO expensive just to rent the facility.

You get a LOT of bang for your buck at Embassy Suites Rivercenter. There minimum for Friday nights is 3,500.

Also - hamilton county parks isn't a bad option - though your guest list is a bit high.

  • If you do go through Hamilton County Parks, be aware that you will need to work with Premire Park Events for alcohol and catering at some locations.  They have a prefered list. The space isn't too expensive, but all the little things can add up!  Happy searching!  :)

  • Take a look at Voice of America Park. The Ronald Reagan Lakeview Room is VERY reasonable to rent! The room overlooks a lake & they have beautiful places for outside pictures, too!

That's for Cincinnati Parks - Hamilton County Parks have their own catering service. :o)

  • So does anyone have any opinions on the mariners-inn down by the river?
  • Have you found a venue yet?
I am from the westside of cincinnati and have been to plenty of weddings at Mariner's Inn.  If I was having my wedding in cincy it would probably be there.  but i live in dayton now so I am going in the middle to VOA park in west chester.

Mariner's Inn also has a north location but you have to use their catering which is more expensive than the river location.

    good luck!
