    We LOOOOVED our baker's cream cheese pound cake with Grand Marnier filling. Sounds simple, but it was absolutely amazing. The champagne cake from another bakery was pretty good too...

    The best wedding cake ever is the one I never tried but just thought I knew about it so I'll rush in and defend it. Then after reading and finding out what's really going on I'll say something like, "You got cake served, Cassandra, now I am totally on a different page so try the chocolate!"

    ugh thats what my mom suggested. I looked at her and bitch slapped her with my eyes. I am sort of adventurous when it comes to food, so I would like to do something a little different.

    I don't think I've ever had weddng cake that tasted good.  It's usually stale and dry.

    The best cake alternative I've had at a wedding was peach cobbler.  Yummy.

    Man, I totally thought you were about to serve more drama on Stacipoop since ya'll are buddy buddies ;)

    We had red velvet with cream cheese filling and butter cream icing for our wedding cake.
    Then we had Chocolate cake, strawberry filling, and cocoa buttercream for the grooms cake.

    I love cake, but agree. . .stay away from the white cakes. They're so overdone and not 'fun'. That is, unless you have funfetti. :)

    We're having 3 different flavors, 1 outer buttercream for all of it (fillings for each layer are different):  The outer buttercream is White Chocolate Buttercream.  The bottom tier of cake will be Red Velvet with Cream Cheese filling.  The second tier will be Chocolate with Chocolate Mousse.  The Third tier will be Almond cake with Amaretto filling.  The top (take-home only) layer is a repeat of the chocolate one.  We found this REALLY good recipe for white chocolate buttercream on the food network's website and its base is egg whites.  It's not nearly as "heavy" as a typical buttercream, but the white chocolate flavor still comes through, and it's just delicious!! :-) 
    July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!
